From that vid it looks like zero finish to me, i seems too smooth and shiny to be a matte finish, and even if it is matte it seems that it doesn't have those streaky lines the cheaper steels have with no base layer... ;)

Thanks for the video Dino

^^ Dino I think Optimun was bought by studio canal .... what's the finish exactly btw? I wlda said matte, but mbe it's zero ....

anyway from what i c here this noway worth more than £9.99

I think XXHappy Gilmore has described it best. When you get the image in the light it really pops out.

From the video, Definitely zero finishing on the face to allow the metallic shine.

When the light hits the black it almost has a sheen to it. Almost gloss but possibly a matte varnish like pain and gain and blufans godfather.

Will be happy if it is those two combinations

Turns out the new UK disc coming out is the exact same master of the movie as already released here in the UK just with those added new couple of extras :(

Yep....Just read the review in Home Cinema Choice! And the transfer is poor....:ohno:

Sure the Kimchi steel will have the exact same transfer. :movie:

So cheesed off. One of my fave films ever and i sold the original blu-ray release due to the rubbish transfer and stuck with the uncut dvd.

Had high hopes for this 20th anniversary edition, and the Kimchi edition has the same extras as the original release so nothing new and no effort from them either - why's such a classic movie getting such poor treatment?... :(

Should be a different transfer as different studio unless they struck the same master. Fingers crossed.

Just reading at beaver, us supposed to have the best transfer. Anybody agree ??? Worth buying ??

We could be lucky, as an Eastern Asian company is probably more likely to source from Sony than they are from a European company.

Why £19.99?!

Steelbook looks gorgeous, like Dino said in his review, the image on the front is high quality and a re-released disc is a given. Just can't justify paying £20 all the time. Sometimes I don't mind, but this seems to be the norm now. I love SB's too much, boo hoo.

For anyone interested this is £17.99 instore at HMV. Very limited stock. My local only had 1.And it was gone before I got there. :(:(
