Here in the UK you could buy a much better quality Panasonic plasma for that sort of money. I imagine they are a similar price stateside.

Granted it would only be a 42inch set, but a TX-P42ST60 would knock the LG into the weeds - and anything LCD/LED can throw at it too!

We should all be in deep mourning now that Panasonic, who led the vanguard, have pulled the plug on the film lover's preferred home format - the remaining LG and Samsungs haven't progressed in years.

Hi Jack, I am a Panasonic owner myself, and we have 2 in the house, that we've purchased over the years. Gorgeous for sure. If you see a good deal in the UK, feel free to contribute as I am sure there are stores having specials on them, and we may miss them. I'll hang on to my Panasonics for all time, LOL! (We'll, as long as they work, of course!)

Pleased to hear you appreciate the true inheritor of all that was good about CRT - and then some significant extras :)
We watch more film, football and rugby here than anything else, so they are perfect. Then again, they don't disgrace themselves with regular broadcast either.

Strangely, the only good deals are on the ZT model (only 60 inch in the UK), but still around £2350 - well over $4k.

All the others - VT, GT and ST are sticking fast to the pre Panasonic cancellation news prices.
