If you live in Europe and buy an item from another Europea country then you will never pay import. If you live in the US and import from Europe, ypu will never pay port for items less than £1000 (or $1000 but not sure which). But if you live in the Europe and import from countries outside of Europe (i.e. America and Asia) you will pay import, i think it is 20% VAT and then anything more than a particular limit and then you will have to pay duty as well but im not sure on the % of that
