Had a huge shock during the week , One of my good friends of many years took his own life earlier in the week .

He had been ill for a long time with mental illness and unfortunately he didn't think he could cope with it anymore, But it has really made me step up a gear and really appreciate what i have and the people i have around me.

Never really had anybody close go before so at the moment my heart feels like its been ripped out .

Buddy you'll be missed by us all , Hope you look in on this

@Cobster sorry to hear that mate my thoughts are with you i'm a strong advocate for destroying the stigma associated with Mental Health issues as i have suffered myself for many years & also knew someone who took their own life. It's hard for people to understand.

A girl I knew killed herself few years ago now and I often think about her still, sad times

When someone we love is lost suddenly it is those who are left behind that have to deal with the pain , the cold gutting loss .

Nothing and no one can hurt your friend anymore . Try not to beat yourself up or worry about what you did or did not do .

I truly hope that time will calmb the loss of your friend . Remember and cherish the best of times you had together you get sad and upset . As others have said if you need anything just P.M me if I can help I will .

Our thoughts and love are with you and the ones who loved your friend and who your friend loved .

Sorry to hear that @Cobster , unfortunately I've had a few similar situations in my life , my best friend took his life 5 years back and one of my other best friend dad took his life 10 years back too , I'm also related to ex footballer Gary speed as you know took his own life few years back , all the same suffered with depression, it's a very powerful misunderstood illness , RIP your friend buddy

sadly my situation is very similar.

I also wish strenght to all of us who have or had mental issues. they really are nothing to play with.

So sorry to hear this sad news @Cobster its difficult for most people to understand, but as someone who has suffered with this awefull problem I know how your friend felt, its a big big problem for everyone left behind though, your friends pain is over, all the pain felt by loved ones has only just started

Life is very delicate and short. Death leaves a heartache that will NEVER heal, but the memories you shared with your loved ones will never be forgotten.
