I'm at Walmart right now and they have a magnetic pre order card with what looks like a steel on the back cover and front.

Oh I do hope the Canadian FS version has all the extras on disc as this one does.
Question for those who have this in hand - I know WB are often region free but I have seen at least one eBay listing stating region A locked. Could someone confirm please?

Went to 2 Walmarts in my area at midnight...one didn't have a clue what I was talking about, checked their back and said they must have not have got them...the other said they only received a few in and that they already sold out within the hour. Trying another Walmart tomorrow morning. Anyone know how many units and if this is going to be a hard one to get?

Just got back from Union City 24/7. There were a good 50 copies of the steel (roughly). They had a large display filled with regular bluray and dvd editions with a center row filled with the steels. I will say that this is the first release I've gone to at Midnight that had a good line of people waiting to pick it up, so even with the larger availability expect that a lot of people are out to buy it. Odd thing was that the display advertised the 3d edition, but it didn't have any copies in it, and they didn't get any copies of the box set in. Weird.

Confirmed to be region-free, played without any issue on a multi-region player set to regions B and C :D

I must say it feels so very nice to hold a SteelBook with gloss finish - yes fingerprint magnet - but nothing beats to silky smooth touch of cold hard steel especially for the Man of Steel movie.

The video is even better than the the UV-HD stream - color saturation and separation so much more defined and on my display, the dark scenes seem to have more details. Audio, in my opinion, is reference quality. Wide sound stage up front with clear and well balanced dialogs while the surround is totally immersive. Hans Zimmer's score is so well executed that I won't be surprised the main theme with the pounding drums is this generation's Superman anthem.

Well done Warner Brothers - all around! Let's do more like this please :D

The Wal-Mart circular in this Sunday's paper states that there will be a minimum of 35 copies of Man of Steel steelbook per store, so I can't understand why some members are reporting that the store they went to had only a few copies out.

The stores replenish stocks nightly and it is possible on release night like today, some stores only got a handful but they will have more throughout the week unless the 24-hour megastores sell out faster and request more copies :dunno:

So, no New Zealand: Home to Middle Earth features on the walmart edition? :D

Yes there is but not listed on the data card. Not interesting to me

Journey of Discovery is the most interesting on this Walmart edition. Looking forward to the Target exclusive features in about 4 hours :)

Packing wasn't that bad, a cardboard fold-over style box. Arrived mint, yesterday to Georgia, and I didn't receive a shipping notice via email! :scat:

Well, i don't know why they put the Hobbit-related features in this apart from they're from the same studios :p

is it like watching the movie while the director & others telling us some stories when they make the movie? but that's not exclusive to walmart, aite?

This steelbook isn't listed on walmart.ca, so I guess USA exclusive.

Bummer seeing this is glossy and I expect FS steelbook will have matte finish.
