"Debossing on the front on the “badge” and the star in the compass on the back."

So the only bossing is either under the front 1/4" slip which we can't see under or the back of the slip which we also can't see under, so what's the problem?

There isn't. The internet is just doing what the Internet does best. Making a fuss without thinking things through lol

It isn't the US version. 1 they don't have 1/4 slips. 2 you can literally see the backs of the slips below it with uk bbfcs on.
I thought about that, it is unusual for US to have a ¼ slip indeed, but other Blu-rays having the BBFC logo doesn't prove anything, I have plenty of editions from various countries, maybe that collector does too.

half baked GIF

For some reason I ASSumed it'd have a debossed border...

Jesus. They're more copies of the same film lol look at the image properly. You can see it's the back and sides of the same steelbook 1/4 slip. You can even see the spine title.

Saw an unboxing of a Spanish copy which is definitely spot gloss with the debossing mentioned in the description. Looks like a light debossed effect in terms of the depth (which i actually prefer) so it may not seem so pronounced in pics

I'm more concerned about why it looks like all those copies have been chucked into a bin, hope that's not where my copy is coming from. :p

In hand it’s ok, better than I expected. The spot gloss and debossing are nice but I still don’t like the art.
If there had been no extras on the finish it would have been awful but if you like the art then it’s a great release.

The bossing on the steel is so weak it's almost laughable. :D

I'll grab some photos in a bit. Proper shoddy. It might as well not be there at all.

Edit: Actually the reverse on the compass isn't bad at all. The front bossing not so much. It's hardly there. In my defense, it was the first place I looked. Spot Gloss is nice though. Film is 10/10. Steelbook 7/10.

Whether embossed or debossed, the title should stand out from the badge. If embossing is used, it should at least be applied to the title.

The badge should have been embossed not debossed surely.
I don't think they can emboss without debossing the whole thing by frame, which essentially is debossing everything but the title... but some argued they've seen such steelbooks.
I've only seen embossed metalpaks and other metal cases.

There's no argument, it's a fact

You only need to take a look at discussion and pictures in HDN release threads of UK steelbooks for Gang Related, Ghoulies I & II and ¡Three Amigos! to convince yourself.

Here's a sample for you: ¡Three Amigos!
