I'm really intrigued how this will play out at the box office, the movie looks like utter garbage, the sterile CGI look is so meta to how sanitized the story apparently is. Such a shame, the story of MJ is one of the most interesting in modern history.

Seems they've been a bit selective and one sided with his life story... did the BBC have a hand in the production of this movie?

To those complaining about the lack of abuse allegations...the film only covers his career up until the bad album. They did shoot stuff regarding Jordy Chandler but had to remove it as they weren't legally allowed to use his name.

Bad was released in 1987, the allegations are in 1993 onwards, right?

As mentioned by crib, there was an estate SNAFU about that portion of his life and the movie (or will that be movies, if you believe they will release a second.) I have no idea what they cherry pick or deal with with this dark period if it ever materializes.

It seems we only have 'the rise and... fade to black (or is that white)' * part of the story, so no idea if there ever will be 'the decline'.

* Terrible and probably offensive inline humour pun included from the year 1991 - but I am getting ahead of myself.

You'd think they'd want to include the allegations to show what it was like for him to be accused of that. Having the attitude of let's not talk about it isn't a good look. I did read that one of the accusers made the estate sign an NDA though.
