That's terrible delivery service, whoever got that I hope they made a complaint. My worst experience was being left a delivery card saying that my item had been taken back to the depot. So I go online and find the local depot 11 miles away and travel down there, only to be told that my closest depot does not service my postal code area and that the one I need is 35 miles in the other direction. Wish they would make stuff like that a little more clear.

@Towser - I am seeing that Amazon UK are starting to use Yodel again. This "courier" company are a farce. I went away for a few days last week and had two separate deliveries.

The first was left under my front tyre of my wife's car FOR TWO DAYS. Luckily we have a driveway and the package was out of sight.

A day later they left another parcel by the outside of my garden fence, under a small paper recycling box.

The recycling box was my neighbours- they took the box off his drive! Luckily again, my neighbour found it and kept it for me until I got back.

Last year they knocked the door and within 30 seconds of doing so (I was finding the front door key) the courier had run about 30 meters across the road and tried to leave the parcel with a random person on my road That I have never had dealings with.

I had to run over the road to ask him where the friggin fire was. They have also come to the front door smoking a cigarette too! Gosh, they are dreadful.

I have had to investigate a fair few theft of vehicles for courier companies. They have a habit of being in a rush, so leave the vehicle unattended with the keys still in the ignition. Of course, they never admit to this, but it comes out in the end via the police report, key examinations of the spare key, etc.

You often find the poor driver is agency based, has 80 drop offs to do in a day, or faces a fine/deduction to their wages if they don't hit their daily target. Too much pressure to apply common sense!
