i don't know what to make of Disney these days. the law of diminishing returns is setting in. although i enjoyed this film, it's not as good as the first, and a sequel wasn't needed. but since i saw the trailer has been released this week for the 'live action' film version of Moana, clearly they are dead set on cannibalising every IP they have ever had.
anyway, this release.
for those with an interest, here are the technicals:
as for the steelbook, i'm pleasantly surprised. both the front and back images have some nice surface treatment to the waves that's well done. i particularly like the back, there's unexpected detail in this.
of course, there's no title anywhere, discounting the giant '2.' and like others, i thought we were well past the face-spine trend (i think this may be my first ever). there's a reason no-one has been buying this! but i picked this up in the sale with an added discount, i'm happy enough, & i won't be buying any other versions.
if that sounds like you, then it's worth a discounted shot!
Good photos have made this look so much worse. It is awful, though. Terrible finish, and spine pictures. The US glossy version with a spine title is the only way to go for this.
