Toho Co., Ltd. unveiled new updates for the My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary, exactly ten years after the premiere of the first episode of the anime series in 2016. First announced at Jump Festa, the global celebration continues to expand with the debut of a new 10th-anniversary key visual, an updated visual for the upcoming Episode 170+1 "More," and a global free-streaming campaign to commemorate the anime’s first broadcast.

Marking a decade since the anime’s debut, My Hero Academia remains one of the most successful anime franchises worldwide. Following the conclusion of Kohei Horikoshi’s manga in August 2024, after selling over 100 million copies globally, the series spans eight seasons, 170 episodes, and four feature films.
In anticipation of the upcoming special episode, Toho has also released a new English version key visual for the highly anticipated “More” episode, which premieres May 2, 2026, exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide (excluding Asia). Adapted from the manga’s 431st chapter, originally included in the final volume, the episode follows Izuku “Deku” Midoriya and his classmates eight years after graduating from U.A. High School.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Toho has launched the “My Hero Academia 10th Anniversary: Free Binge Marathon — Early Seasons (1–3)”, a limited-time worldwide streaming event available here on the TOHO animation official YouTube channel. Seasons 1–3 (Episodes 1–63) will be available to stream for free with subtitle options in seven languages: English, French, Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain), German, Portuguese, and Italian.

In celebration of “Hero Day” in Japan and the My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary, Toho Co., Ltd. has released a new commemorative video today honoring ten years of the anime series. The release also follows My Hero Academia’s Anime of the Year win at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards for the anime’s final season, which celebrated everyone who supported the franchise every step of the way.

Released as part of the ongoing celebration for the series, the latest two and a half minute video released on the same day the legendary hero All Might defeated the evil All For One in Kamino, looks back on the anime’s history with nostalgic music and memorable footage from previous episodes. It invites longtime fans to relive the journey of Izuku “Deku” Midoriya and his heroic friends and villainous enemies.

Kohei Horikoshi’s manga ended in August 2024 after selling over 100 million copies worldwide, but My Hero Academia is still one of the top shonen titles, spawning a decades-long anime that now includes eight seasons, 170+1 episodes, and four films.

Toho Animation also recently announced that they will be hosting a My Hero Academia 10th Anniversary Panel at Anime Expo 2026 on July 4 at 2:30 PM at the Crypto.com area. The panel will include appearances by Daiki Yamashita, who voices Deku, and Koki Uchiyama, who voices the show’s main antagonist, Tomura Shigaraki.

In addition, the panel will have the world premiere of the new special clip, My Hero Academia: I am a hero too. Set after the events of the epilogue special, centered on an older version of one of the anime’s supporting characters, Eri. The upcoming feature adapts five additional pages of manga material released with the My Hero Academia: Ultra Age fan book and is scheduled for an official launch on August 3, 2026.

My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary celebration will continue throughout 2026, with further projects, collaborations, and announcements to be revealed on the 10th Anniversary Project Special Website https://myheroacademia.link/10-anniversary/.
