Title: Kitbag

Genre: History, Drama

Director: Ridley Scott

Cast: Joaquin Phoenix

Plot: An original and personal look at Napoleon’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine.

Often impressive, yet very superfluous, just barely touching major events, glossing over many, like invasion of Russia. The story is quite long, so maybe there was no other way to cover the whole adult life of Napoleon, but it still feels like a bunch of unrelated scenes thrown together, like a sketch show. War scenes are short and quite bloodless. It's a shame such enormous sets with 100s of extras weren't given proper weight. Only the battle at Waterloo is a little longer and more substantial. Maybe it should've been a miniseries.

Funny how we have to bear through 8 hours of Monarch for 10 minutes of actually interesting events, while a life full of rich for exploration events is crammed into 2.5, to just make one example. Another would be Apple's plane thriller Hijack, which should've been a 2 hour movie, that they dragged out into an 8 episode series... something is wrong here.

Se feeling I have with Appletv+ so far. Monarch being the worst imo
