well, we will see... maybe they release real steelbooks
The Steelcase is a new product from Novobox and could very well be solid in terms of quality. The biggest innovation is certainly the inclusion of a traditional spine, which is a clear advantage over the previous FuturePaks. However, the fact that Retro Gold has not communicated this transparently is, frankly, quite bold. Since “Steelbook” is a registered trademark of Scanavo, they’ve opted for the spelling “Steel Book” with a space, legally probably just acceptable, but still somewhat questionable.
Just got a message back from Retrogold, they said it's not a futurepak or a metalpak, but a premium steel box lol.
Didn't even confirm it was a steelbook.
I've replied back as to what a steel box is, hopefully we some transparency.
I've even emailed scanavo and novobox for clarification.
All I know is, if they're 100% not steelbooks, they're all getting cancelled.

So pretty much 100% not steelbooks. They're the imitation ones that look really like steels. Monster Squad, Beetlejuice from raro films have been made with these

The product seems to be of decent quality, and I really don’t have anything against it. For smaller labels, it’s certainly an attractive option, as it allows for lower production quantities. However, I have absolutely no understanding when such things are not communicated transparently, or in the case of Retro Gold, when customers are deliberately misled. The product has an official name, Steelcase, and that’s exactly how it should be labeled. Dark Sky Selects clearly refers to The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers as Steelcases, and Reservoir Dogs in France is also correctly named, this should be the standard everywhere.
I'm not entirely sure if I want to keep the pre-order or not. It looks fairly close to the original, was skeptical tbh once the price showed online, thought it was too good a value to be true

Confirmed by Novobox themselves it's a steel case.
It's not a futurepak so maybe a new sub forum might be ideal as this is a new style packaging.
We all know what futrepaks are, and this is the new direct competitor to Scanavo so would be good to start a new list of all the releases

received my "no retreat no surrender" cover d yesterday.
they had to re-print all full slips, because of some quality issues.
Retro Gold 63's information policy is truly shameful.
It will be interesting to compare the genuine Steelbook with the copy from Novobox.

I hope this will encourage Scanavo to improve quality (thicker metal, better paint finishes, no color casts in printing, better quality control to avoid scratches and dents) and reduce the minimum order quantity to 1,000 pieces.
