Farewell
It has been 14 years since we established OPPO Digital in the United States, and with the support of our customers, technical partners, and movie/music studios, we produced many award-winning Hi-Fi audio products and universal disc players, spanning three generations from DVD, Blu-ray, to 4K UHD.

As our latest 4K UHD players reach the pinnacle of their performance, it is time to say goodbye. We are proud to have made such well-regarded products and to have served the enthusiast community. Without our customers' suggestions, encouragement, and support, we could not have accomplished these achievements.

Though OPPO Digital will gradually stop manufacturing new products, existing products will continue to be supported, warranties will still be valid, and both in-warranty and out-of-warranty repair services will continue to be available. Firmware will continue to be maintained and updates released from time to time. Customers can rest assured that they will continue to receive the high quality service and support that they have come to expect from OPPO Digital.

We greatly appreciate the opportunity to have developed such exciting products for our customers. It has been an honor.

Best regards,

All of us at OPPO Digital

Definitely! Fingers Crossed.
It is tough to gauge because some people are like "GAAA! HAVE TO GET ONE BEFORE THEY ARE GONE!"
Others be like "MAN! THESE ARE GONNA BE WORTH $$$, SO I SHOULD BUY SOME TO FLIP ON EBAY LATER!"
And others are "IF THEY ARE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS, WHY WOULD I BUY THIS?!" (Which is stupid because: 1) It is one of the greatest players ever made 2) They will honor all warranties 3) they have pledged at least two years of service and firmware upgrades from here out. (And I am hard pressed to think of any issues that could come up in the near future that would even need firmware updates - most bugs have been ironed out already) AND they are/were legendary for having the greatest customer service in the industry)).

I already have the Oppo BDP-93 and it's awesome so I kind of want to stay with the same brand if you know what I mean. The quality is top notch imho.

I am gutted by the news :blackeye:

I have an 103 right now and it is just a freakin' awesome machine !!! The DVD's on this look awesome. I was planning on getting my UHD set up when I move sometime this fall to next spring, but I can't imagine not having an Oppo. Love the way they are built, it's simply amazing to feel !

I guess I'll have to get one right now and just put it on my Credit Card :wow: and Keep it closed until I am ready to use it (n):dunno:

As has been mentioned on other forums they plan to keep supplying firmware updates for at least another 7 years and they will stop machine production in 2020. So basically a slow finish.

I contacted Oppo to have the date confirmed as to when they will stop production and this is what they Replied;

We will stop all production by this summer, so when we run out of stock of the UDP-203 and our upcoming manufacturing run of the UDP-205, we will have no additional product in development or available for purchase.
