Jeff Bridges was being interviewed at Comic-Con (by Jennifer Lawrence no less) and he was talking about Out of the Furnace because Scott Cooper (director) had shown him the film. He said, "Wait til you see it. It's great. It's really terrific." He was talking about it as if it's his favorite film being released this year. :movie::LOL::oohyeah:

I saw this film twice today and absolutely loved it. The acting is the best of any film this year. Christian Bale at his best ever. Casey Affleck not far behind. Woody Harrelson is very menacing. Zoe Saldana is not only hot, but also delivers a great emotional performance. She, along with Willem Dafoe and Forest Whitaker, is underused. The story is weaker than expected, but still solid. The pacing is slow, it's predictable, and it feels a bit anticlimactic. However, the acting, the emotional pull, and the grittiness make up for that. This film is comparable to Killing Them Softly, Drive, and Only God Forgives. But it's not as violent as any of those three, and its pacing is much better than all three. A solid comparison could also be made to The Place Beyond the Pines, which up to this point, featured the best acting of any film in 2013. I very much enjoyed Out of the Furnace.
