Oh, do you guys hate the back? I actually like it and wish it was the front... since I do hate the current front artwork.

My last plea!! :tear:

LOL!! I really hate the back cover art. Oh well, I guess I'll just skip this one then and hope for a criterion version down the road. Enjoy your steelie everyone!! :p

Man I wish I could design my own steelbooks sometimes!!

Awesome front cover vivaperu, kinda looks like a Criterion release. I am passing on this one as well if they do not change the back

@fishcp2 - Really?! :p
Lol, to each his own.

Well here are my reasons. The first reason is that the Canadian Steelbook already uses the Pale Man, which I wasn't a fan of to begin with. Second, the Pale Man is really in the movie for less than 10 minutes, albeit it does leave a strong impression. I really think the focus should be on the the main characters from the movie, which are the Faun and Ofelia. Using the Pale Man makes it seem like its a generic horror movie when in fact the horror aspect is only one theme of the story. The front cover really gives a very fantasy and somber vibe. The original tree with Ofelia artwork gave that sense of wonder that the movie was all about. That's the reason why I like both of those designs. Having the Pale Man back cover doesn't do the movie justice. Anywho, just my opinions. Let's not even get started with the inside art. Something tells me it's also going to be Black and White inside art which Zavvi has been doing a lot of recently. I just wish they would put more thought into the selection of the artwork and how it should represent the movie.

Zavvi does not say this is a limited number of 4,000 copies in the item description.

I think its about time we had the young girl Ofelia on the front cover who is the main character of this story and forget about the Pale Man which has already been used in Canadian release, but keep the Faun on the back cover.

Front Cover - Ofelia's face
Back cover - Faun's face

Just read over at br.com that this new edition WILL have a fixed 5.1 track (correct pitch).

This is the absolute best news and means I will be ordering this right now and getting rid of my current amaray.

Agree with both of these sentiments, especially the first. Thank you vivaperu for putting it into words that I couldn't find

i would like if they put the front cover on the back, and instead the orginal posterart on the front and the actual backcover on the inside with a different camera angle:

new front (same as german but without blubanner):

new back (old front)

new inside (old back with diffrent angle)

I dont see why everyone wants the front changed to be the same as the german release.
A bit of variety in steelbooks makes them more interesting.

I want to see more unique releases, not rehashes of old designs.

normally i would agree but as good as the german frontart is, the steel itself isn't it and in this particular case i just want a good sb version of this movie that fits. so far all releases yet sucks, and this would be just the next one which could have been better :/

Me too! Thanks!

Just a heads-up this was corrected with the 'special edition' version so I assume it's the same exact disc as that one. I am considering doing the same (getting rid of my amaray) but apparently the sound comparison isn't noticeably different...so I'm on the fence. Sell amaray to help fund steelbook or keep amaray and ignore steelbook?
