Out of curiosity, based on what? Total domestic sales appear to higher for Pan's Lab:

Pan's Lab has had a couple of other steelbook releases as well before this one.

- Steelbook multiple copy burnout

- No glossy finish

- No embossing or debossing

- subjectively unappealing artwork, insofar as the back artwork seems to clash with the front (to me)

Also, 5.1 audio on this UK release vs 7.1.

I picked up a copy of this just to complete my steelbook collection of this film, but I certainly wasn't dying to get this one.

where did these 'extra' copies come from if its 'sold out' on zavvi? did zavvi just allocate a number to be sold on their site, and then another number to be sold through its other outlets?

seeing as its a zavvi exclusive, shouldnt they keep it on their site? it seems a bit misleading to say its sold out when its clearly not.

zavvi outlet copies have been there for ages,and lol the outlets are owned by zavvi so i don't understand what you getting at it just mean's sold out on there site,the outlets are like back ups.

so its not sold out then ha. people wonder why this film sold out with its terrible clashing art. the answer is straight forward- it hasnt sold out. zavvi are just selling them out the back door of their shop lol

The front of the steelbook is incredible, but that back... jeez who gave the green light on that? Great film though, so I might be able to look past the horrible back art if the price is decent enough.

If they could fit 'sold out on here, but not sold out via our outlets on other websites' on the button, then I'm sure they'd have put that.

It's funny that some insinuate that Zavvi are doing something dodgy by selling through Play.com and eBay. Why would they not use one of the biggest retail sites in the UK and the World's most popular auction site to advertise their products?

What's pissing people off is that they're not technically out of stock. The first place they should announce that should be their sister sites or at least be able to source you a copy (I imagine they are all stored in the same warehouse) on their main site.

Again, it's just Zavvi being all over the place as we've all come to love and expect!!

I think it's well known that Zavvi don't have the best systems in place when it comes to their website and stock. As has been previously suggested, they probably allocate so much stock to each outlet. That way they avoid the possibility of someone placing an order for the last one in stock on one outlet while the other outlets are still taking orders. As you say, it is Zavvi being all over the place. Their website desperately needs an update as it would avoid many of the problems reported.

Bloody Wa***rs! I bought it just last week from their outlet store for €4 more.

This really is getting fu***ng ridiculous. Talk about constantly sticking 2 fingers up to the collectors (mostly on this site that are keeping them in business)

Just ordered this. Decided that I don't want to miss out on it second time in a row. The back isn't great but the art by Struzan on the front makes up for it. I'm actually surprised that this came back to zavvi - I thought that it will stay sold out. Can't really complain about that

I received this today after being on my wanted list for quite some time.

I love the artwork on the front, but its a bit disappointing to look at in hand.
It doesn't suit having a metallic shine to it, as the image looks blurry at certain angles.

I just got this, I think it looks great in hand. The metallic shine doesn't bother me as I think it suits the style. The back looks poor but the front is good enough to make up for it. One of the most unique artworks I've seen on a Steelbook!
