I don't think the quality of the films should be in question, simply the sheer volume. Fox should really release the war themed titles on June 2nd to coincide with the anniversary of D-Day and move the others to July. Fifteen titles in one day is just ridiculous, even for Fox.

no its the 70th anniversary of the d-day landings this year and thats why all war films are being released this year. to commerate it where over 130,000 landed on the normandy beaches and put there necks on the block for everyone. so we wouldn't be under hilter. so to me is not a strange lot its too do with freedom and all those people that died for all of us.
I personally have been to france and seen the war graves and it is a real eye opener and puts it in a real prospective.

Basil,

I guarantee if all those men who perished in the Second World War fighting for freedom, justice, equality etc. were to know how far to the right of politics we have drifted they would rise from the grave.

A world where the Tory party in government now resembles a neo-nazi junta - and in fact hob nob with real Latvian nazis in the European parliament (Cameron called them Our dear friends in Europe) is very far removed from a hotbed of democracy and freedom!

'Nuff Said!

Will this have the DVD Extras Disc

I have the Remastered USA Blu-ray and that included the DVD extras Disc fantastic extras and the Remastered Blu-ray was a massive improvement over the previous release

Was the Recent UK Blu-ray released last year on 3 Jun 2013 the Remastered version

I've only got the original US BD (ie the one before they remastered it), but I seem to remember that the original UK one (which was a Play.com exclusive) was the same DNR mess as that. I would presume that the 2nd release in 2013 was the remastered one, but there's no telling!

reduced at amazon now £19.75

---------- Post added at 11:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:15 AM ----------

base now at £17.99 seems to be cheapest so far

Anyone have the same problem as when mine arrived - Production fault on spine, very badly misaligned at top and bottom buy 1cm so it cuts off the bluray logo at bottom of spine.

Zavvi's quality control is getting worse, have already had to returned Bambi and Cinderella 2x each for knife slashes across spine and dents.

Patton is not a Zavvi exclusive release its available from all retailers
Amazon/Zavvi/Hmv/Base/Play.com/Tower Records Ireland all retail shops etc
You mean FOX and scanavo quality control

Note Zavvi don't make any steelbooks they just sell them there a retailer as in a Online Retail Shop that has exclusives sometimes as do other retail shops like Amazon/Hmv (Zavvi Was originally Virgin Megastores/Our Price bought out by Virgin Management traded under new name Zavvi and then went online only then sold Zavvi to The Hut Group)

How is this all related to a wave of overpriced blu-ray steelbooks?

Call it what you want. IMHO its just another cynical cash grab from a corporation that knows all too well which market areas to exploit.

Pretty sure this is the 2013 UK release i.e the old waxy version, have the steel and the french release and they look identical. Plus the disc has 2013 on it.

just finished watch the movie & it is BRILLIANT war movie. one of the best biopic from the one of the most decorated general in World Wars. after just finished the movie, went online to search for steelbook. too bad that this isn't the newly improved remastered edition like the US version. so i'm calling of, keep the us version instead

A great war movie really enjoyed it. It's the cheapest on Zavvi at the moment at £9.99 from the rest deffinately worth the purchase and thanks for the pics... [emoji41]
