Why is the back image smaller full stop?

Are 1k of each of these going to turn up elsewhere then, as it's not not like Disney to do sub 4k is it (excluding WFRR a couple of years back)?

They f these up dam man it is hurting my eyes and the image on the back of this one look like it got crop to the size of pea and the image would have look much better if blown up to fill the whole front, with the tiny picture front and back and massive blank space just brings it down.

Even if they left the backs blank it would be an improvement, those weird little pictures just make it look cheap. I like your idea of the skull across the backs of all the releases.. and in a perfect world they would be debossed around the edges and embossed skull and bones. If all steelbooks had put that kind of effort and money into the design and production of steelbooks, we would be parting with our money happily, I would be happy to pay premium prices for premium treatment, everytime.
Zavvi have dropped the price on these now, but the backs put me right off, even at £15.99 they're not worth buying (not worth it to me anyway).. i have to say, it was the first film I really liked, so the artwork was gonna have to be something special for me to buy them all.. and sadly, I don't think they are special in any way not even the front.. but..£6.99 and I'm in!

We can try Zavvi/Disney to convince them for improvements. Maybe it works. On some steelbooks, the studio improved the artwork.

Its not that we wishes that they make all new artworks. Its only, that they choose better artworks.

I noticed that on some recent glossy steelbooks, they tend to put more emphasis on certain portions of the artwork in terms of paint distribution. For example the recent Lion King, on the back image the paint on the characters looks good, but the jungle looks like it was applied half a coat of paint. My point is I think these steelbooks will be given the same treatment. The tiny pictures on the back will receive a decent coat, while the frame will be given about half the paint. I could be wrong, but making the back image bigger would mean having to use more paint, this way they get to save money. I can't think of any other reason why the image is so small. Just a theory, either way, the artwork is very dissapointing

I think, if those of us who don't like them held back on ordering then there may be a chance for them to enlarge the pics on the back. . But I have a feeling some will order regardless of the cheap silly looking back art.. sad but true. We shall see. . Disney can be difficult once something has been signed off on. Wish zavvi had argued "I'm not bloody seeling this in my shop, collectors won't like it, go back and do it again" I can dream lol

just kind of fed up w/ these '...ever...' posts, when something is actually pretty decent, like this whole PotC series of steels. not the best but nice coherent look. IMO !

I think it's kinda a solid release, but could have been so much better (Best Buy knew how to do it).

Zavvi PotC steels would interest me if they cost 9,99€ each, but currently I'm willing to forget that these even exist.
