Last time I checked this was a war film, so I think the colours suit the content perfectly. If you want happy and bright go and buy a Pixar film
By golly your right, it is a war film! How silly of me, how can I forgot that everything Inc the forest, sky, rivers and even the blood was a dull grey colour

I decided to cancel my order. It's a nice steelbook, but the dull finish really puts me off. If it had been glossy then it would be really nice.
Just keeping my order for Predator 2, as I already have the steel for Predator so hopefully 2 will have a similar finish (semi-glossy)

After some thought iv decided to do the same. The Platoon steel is just uninspiring. And heres hoping the Predator 2 Steel has a bit of gloss on it.
Ordered mine a while ago.like the dull look of this steelbook.goes well with this dark and gritty war movie.

I actually like the darker pic than that more tbh. Still think its a poor steel
I hate to be 'that guy' but seriously this film means so much to me. I have a massive obsession with the Vietnam war, this film is what started it off. I've had just about every release of this film ON vID, dvd etc etc, I bought the Platoon DVD steelbook on ebay years ago when it was near impossible to find and frankly I think this pisses all over this release and that wasnt the greatest either.
I'm out of the Steel game now but I still have to hold off from ordering some...this is not one of them. I think its one of the weakest steels I've ever seen and embossing doesnt make up for it whatsoever...had I been in the game still I would have ordered just for the obsessive nature but I wouldnt have liked it at all. I'd rather have a nice steel generally than a boring and unisnspired one with embossing.
To me its a crime they have released such a poor steel for such a magnificent triumph of cinematic history.
