To me its a crime they have released such a poor steel for such a magnificent triumph of cinematic history.

This is not a poor steel by any means, just take a visit to Amazon Germany and go through their steelbook listings if you want to know what a poor steel looks like.

This won't win any awards but is a clean release with back and inside art, plus an embossed title to boot.

Really nice steel got this today with 2 others from Amazon. So well packed. They came in 3 of the individual new boxes with the steelbook suspended in the box. These were then put into a bigger box with tons of cushioning. Needless to say all arrived mint. Fantastic.

Wow it looks amazing! Looks a lot better from that point of view pictures instead of the Zavvi/Amazon ones etc.

On another note, anyone know about the subtitles on this one? Does it have swedish?

Im not saying its the worst steel ever but for such a classic movie with many wanting a steel for this they have under delivered. Much the same as the Star Wars steels though I prefer them to this


Dino Last - excellent review. 3 points though.

- The Platoon transfer isn't the greatest though the sound is very good.
- this is part of Oliver Stone's Vietnam Trilogy
- Dale Dye is the guys name, has a LONG list of movies, generally as Army. He also advises on Military matters on many films (some he's in)
