Cancelled mine and will pick them up after Christmas

Got this today along with Whisper of the Heart. Pointless observation but the last two both had blue spines and these two are muted red. Is there a preferred order for these to the steel book release order then?

It's completely random as far as I'm aware.

No observation is pointless as far as steelbooks are concerned and my observation is that the lovely spine colours are designed to match the colours of the titles on the steelbook fronts (and the J-cards ;)) and to go back a step, looking at the artworks, it's not hard to see that the colours of the titles have been picked out from the artworks.
This group of eight for example:-

Amazon seem to have put Porco Rosso & Whisper under review. Was going to buy the pair this morning but hopefully they’ll come back on soon.

happy days. :) just noticed that this is still for sale on amazon (UK) :wow:, so for anyone interested and who has not yet taken the plunge...
jcard details:
this is probably one of my favourite Ghiblis. one of the few that would actually suit a sequel (that will of course now never happen). and while all of these steels do have a lot of empty silver, it really makes the red plane pop on the exterior artwork:
even the interior artwork is good:
definitely worth picking up if you have not yet done so already.

For something a bit different but with similar roundel style artwork - and this against what could be a white gloss background - there's the upcoming Studio Ghibli FUTUREPAK collection of 20 titles from France all with French print on the front (not unreasonably):-

Not forgetting the words from a manager of Novobox concerning his FuturePak product - that it's better than a steelbook and weighs in at 170 grammes against 135 for the steelbook and also that the tinplate is thicker - 0.25 mm against 0.21 mm - allowing more scope for 3D embossing etc.

futurepak just doesn't have the same production values as steelbook. artwork aside, the actual product (steelbook) is better.

futurepak is a nice alternative though

Comparison with the FuturePak from France . . . with the main difference, apart from the obvious steelbook vs. FuturPak and domestic titles, being the white background vs. the silver. . . for folks crying out for a white background on the UK steelbook able to judge between the two:-
