Ultimate Hunter Edition for 2D is also specified on the Media Mark product page (link in the OP).

At caps-a-holic.com you can find comparison screens of the 3d and UHE.
the UHE transfer was used for the convertion.
you can chose to watch in 3d or 2d in the 3d disc.

Just bought the US version with a lenticular slipcover, whatever. I wanted this but they decided to include 20 subtitles but not Spanish lol, and let's not even talk about the old transfer.

I'm glad I'm only spending $15 and not +$50.

This was confirmed quite a while back mate, I've only bought this to add to my Arnie collection but like you I'm annoyed it's not a new transfer

On a more positive note though, the 3D is suppose to be pretty good. Not as good as JP, Top Gun or Titanic but better than the other conversions that have come out

Review up folks at BD.com.
I'm annoyed as everyone else about the lack of new transfer but by the sounds of it this new 3D version should be worth watching so not a total disaster. Looking forward to adding this one to the collection :D

I understand, but not 3D effect then. Pity.

Just got this today. Actually when you unwrap it the lenticular does have good 3d depth as well as the predator vision effect! In hand this really does feel a fantastic quality steelbook. I don't really care that much about the transfer as I would have just bought the amaray. Its all about the steel and this one is an absolute beauty! !:scat::drool:

i don't remember if this has been mentioned before, but this steelbook is not exclusive to media markt germany (anymore). i saw three copies of it today at a saturn store in vienna /austria. the only reason i did not buy it was the lack of a new transfer of the 2D version. i have a nice dvd boxset, and heard that the blu-ray transfer is so DNR'd and waxy that i rather go to madame tussauds before buying this.
the lenticular card on this looks stunning though.
price was 29.99€.
