As can be seen in the alternative Pulp Fiction poster, hair kind of regular here . . . presumably a very early image before the changes were made ...

"Samuel L. Jackson's 'Pulp Fiction' Jheri Curl Wig Was a Happy Accident

Jackson and host Stephen Colbert were chatting about the ’fro’s they used to rock back in the day, which lead to Jackson talking about how his trademark Jheri curl in Pulp Fiction was actually a happy accident.

“Well, Quentin [Tarantino] is this huge fan of blaxploitation films,” explained Jackson. “So in his mind, Jules had this big Afro. And, unfortunately for him, he sent this young, white PA over to South Central to buy an Afro wig. And she bought a Jheri curl wig thinking it was an Afro wig.”

“She brought it back, you know,” Jackson continued. “Quentin kind of railed at her, went off, and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, it’s perfect,’ because NWA is starting to hit, you know, they were large, and all those guys had Jheri curls.”

The hip-hop group NWA helped popularize the hairstyle, but did you know it was invented in the 1980s by a hairdresser and businessman named Jheri Redding? Look him up, you might be surprised to see what he looks like."

OK, penultimate word on the hair ... from the man himself ... in conversation with Michael Keaton:-

Last word on the hair (honestly) ... of course SLJ famous for his hair/wig styles in his films as much as for anything else ... w/ some of his best:-

Since I have Reservoir Dogs arriving today I decided not to wait for the on sale date and time for Pulp Fiction and joined the Group Buy today instead.

Is it me or is Nova's Tarantino wave getting worse with each release? By the time we get to The Hateful 8 it'll be a pop-art design with no spine title and a matte finish :D
Yeah I can agree a little with this. But I think it’s due to the fact that there’s very little good artwork available for these older Tarantino movies. Hope and believe it should be much better once (if) they get to the newer films!

Agreed. Tarantino only directed one scene in Sin City, but I think if Novamedia did a release for that it would be phenomenal.

I thought you stopped buying premiums

You are correct. But I have always wanted a Pulp Fiction steelbook to go along with the banner on my wall.
And the price for these are quite reasonable compared to the bigger premiums.

Pretty much the same as a Disney/Marvel/Lucasfilm steelbook from Best Buy.

Now if somebody would just put out a premium for Back To The Future. :)

I just cannot go for the lenticular. Samuel Jackson without the afro is like Dolly Parton without the :wow:.
Agreed. I always go for the lenticular (that's why I joined the wrong group buy initially ^^') but this one had me move to the full slip A.
