i'm also quite sure this will come back in stock again, but maybe only for a couple of hundred cancellations. this might be one of the rare occasions when a zavvi steel actually really sells out. popular movie, good price, not too many alternative releases, and last missing part of a series of steelbooks. the first three had a 4000 print-run i suppose, this one only half of it. 
can't remember any zavvi steelbook that was sold out in preorder and didn't come back in stock
Only one I can think of is sleepy hollow but that was due to half the stock (or more) being damaged
Yeah this may actually sell out after release but it will be back for a bit (whether that's 10 mins, 10 days or 10 months)

A "Grail" steelbook shouldn't come back . . . this is the first "Grail" U.K. steelbook and the only U.K. steelbook that merits that title (IMO).
Anyway, about it coming back - only time will tell, but I'd be very surprised if it does.
Why would I be surprised ?
Because:-
- It's reportedly only 2,000 pieces.
- The nearest equivalent (the Amazon German exclusive) is silly money and if I'm not mistaken that has the old-fashioned nasty blue banner header and a German printed back
- The Zavvi is arguably a far superior product for the English-speaking consumer and a no-brainer purchase at this price plus it's the biz regarding finish/'bossing (reportedly).

They both came back. Army of darkness a few times and under the skin recently
As I mentioned sleepy hollow is the only one I think.
A bit different than normal though. Under The Skin a year later for about 10 mins!!!!

I need to see this in hand first plus Drive HMV is a grail to me and so is Ex_Machina (although that had other releases in other countries) along with a few others.

It's happened to other steels a year later though (or nearly a year). Army of darkness was nearly a year later too.
But the question was has any steel that's sold out at Zavvi pre order and stayed that way so under the skin don't qualify now
Yeah agree. I would class Drive HMV as one. Maybe Play.com Iron Man also?
I don't own the iron man but I think a lot do consider it to be a Grail.
I got the play iron man 2 - also a Grail.
I'm not actually sure if that did come in stock after. I joined the site just after it was released and before I considered myself a collector. But I consider it a Grail
@BluSteel2012 blade 2 could be another if it ever gets released.
