What films have you watched lately? Give it a rating and a brief review, and use spoilers if you're going to give away TMI. :)

The Wolf of Wall Street - 4/5 - Solid three hour movie, kept me interested throughout, a real pleasure to see DiCaprio and Scorsese reunite. It's wild, loud and riotous. Not much to stimulate the mind, but great fun.

Robocop (2014) - 2/5 - Not so much a great let down as I never anticipated it, but it looked promising enough. Unfortunately it didn't deliver the goods and lacked everything I liked about the original.

Now you go :D

Battle Royale - 5/5 For the type of movie it was extremely well done, it captures the rawness and over the top violence Japan is known for with a bit of humor mixed in. If any of you are a Kill Bill fan or like survival while being hunted down movies like The Hunger Games, The Running Man, then you will love this film give it a go.

The Negotiator - 4/5 Great movie with great acting, a great thriller/mystery that grabs you by the feet and never lets up, This in my opinion is Samuel L Jackson's best performance or atleast right up with Pulp Fitction. Sam Jackson and his great supporting class with the likes of Kevin Spacey, Paul Giamatti, and David Morse. great popcorn flick after a long day at the office.

A million Ways to Die in the West - 11/17 Trailer gives away most parts, so don't watch that. Enjoyable movie, but Seth needs some practice before taking on the lead again.
Don't watch if you can't stand Family Guy/Ted.

"THAT AWKWARD MOMENT": 7.5-8/10

Just watched "That Awkward Moment" starring Zac Efron. There is this negative stigma that seems to come with saying you watched a Zac Efron movie. Personally, I like the more recent stuff I've seen with him in it (eg- The Paperboy, Neighbors & this one) has been pretty good in its own right and I look forward to seeing more. I think the guy has a huge amount of potential, despite that stigma.

First off, "That Awkward Moment" is a Focus Features Film (say that 5 times fast lol). It also stars Michael Jordan (no, not that Michael Jordan), who is another young actor who is popping up quite a bit lately.

Anyways, I didn't know what to expect watching this one as it was my fiance's pick and her choices tend to be all over the place and a bit inconsistent in quality. After watching the first 10-15 minutes and getting what I thought was the gist of the movie, I wasn't expecting much substance to follow. However, I ended up being quite surprised on that front by the end of the movie. It is a love story, but far from your stereotypical "chick flick". There is a vast amount of humor in this movie, and I laughed pretty much nonstop for most of the film.

All in all, I was actually impressed to a certain extent when the credits began to roll. This was due to the fact that I expected nothing from the film though. Either way, it's definitely worth a watch. I expect you'll be able to find it on Netflix at some point.

If anyone happens to see it, I'd love to here what you think about it!

Next Critique: "Bad Words" Starring Jason Bateman

A Fault In Our Stars,

Must admit I wasn't entirely looking forward to this film. The trailer looked interesting if a little too girl friendly and the subject matter gave me the impression this wouldn't have a happy ending. "I will stress my cinema buddy is female"

I can honestly say this is a great little film that balances humour and cancer well. It doesn't preach anything or try and hammer a point across, it just gets on with a sweet love story that really does resemble life, and makes you think.

For those that want a thought provoking entertaining film that will tug at your heart strings as well as often make you laugh, you can't go wrong with this. Well put together and superbly acted throughout it's one I will even pick up on home formats.
