Arrow or Umbrella all over this for a release surely?

Could also see Arrow, Umbrella or even Second Sight picking up Antonia Bird's 'Ravenous' from the same year.
1999 was a banger year for so many movies.
Similar actors from Plunkett and Macleane turn up in Ravenous too.
Late 90s still definitely had that Brit talent /Brit Pop vibe still going strong until it died off early 00s.
Umbrella is a shout, I could see that but I'd take any of those for sure! Ravenous added to the watch list, cheers m8  I said the same to the Mrs after watching, 1999 is just littered with gems.

Plunkett & Macleane was directed by Jake Scott...it didn't click until just then.
Then I saw it online...in all the years since watching this, it never clicked that Jake Scott is of THE Scotts, Ridley & Tony.
He's Ridley Scotts son.
How the F did I not clock that.

Superb movie about a fella and his axe. So good, it gave me wood. 4 out 5.

(Netflix probably won't ever release the blooming thing on physical. Best see it there)

An incredible cast deliver some of the best acting I've seen all year, anchored by an unyielding performance by Robert Aramayo as John Davidson.
I Swear is perhaps the most movingly funny film of 2026 so far.
To call it a tragicomedy is doing the film an injustice. The filmmakers have balanced the highs and lows of Johns story with such perfectly deliberate precision, its something that could have easily slipped into mawkish voyerism given the stigmatisation of Tourettes syndrome. As we saw at this years Baftas, the immediate indignant outrage on social media just shows how prehistoric we still are at understanding and accepting complex neurological disorders.

A lot of us in the UK are quite familiar with John Davidson. There were several documentaries in the late 90s and early 00s that featured the incredibly difficult life coping with tourettes syndrome and John Davidson was a key participant in them. Despite that, this new feature shows a far deeper and more personal look at his life, a life full of remarkable kindness but still cut by callous dereliction.
The swings of emotion are incredibly well timed. The pacing is spot on, it never overstayed it's welcome and felt like the glory days of British filmmaking of the 90s and early 2000s.
Funny, upsetting, full of warmth and pain in equal measure; a film everyone should see. Almost top marks.
Go watch it.
4.5 out 5

Superb indie serial killer horror. Beautifully shot on 35mm so you get the occasional imperfections that you just don't get with digitally shot movies which adds to the appeal. The colour palette is just gorgeous.
The twist comes early but the late reveal regarding the serial killers motives is a very nice touch.
Absolutely outstanding in 4K as well.

loved the first movie and its 'indie' vibe so I was concerned the bigger budget sequel may lack the qualities of the original. No need to worry! This is an excellent sequel, exquisitely acted that sits well with the original. Naomi Scott's performance is pretty astonishing and Oscar worthy, but, as we all know, horror is so sadly often overlooked oscar wise.
4K wise, this is a stellar release as well with excellent Dolby Vision/ Atmos...

Top notch in 4k with Dolby Vision. One of my favourite 4K releases screaming out for a sequel...

Gritty, real-time depiction presented in a no frills, no heroics style. Top notch Dolby Vision/Atmos release.

I must sound like a broken record with this one as I've commented previously regarding the reference quality of the Dolby Vision /Atmos aspects of this release. This is one of my go to discs for getting the best out of my set up, plus it's one of the best reboots in recent years. Outstanding...

A gutsy Dolby vision/Atmos delight. Sticking with the original theatrical cut as I thought the redux cut was an absolute disaster so I'm also avoiding the final cut...

I'm pretty sure I've commented on this in the past but I can't emphasise enough what a stunner this is in Dolby vision/Atmos. Absolutely outstanding reference quality. When I want to get the best out of my system this is one of my go to discs. Not to mention it's a F#CKING great movie!!!

I just can't help myself. Every time I watch this movie I feel the need to come here and praise the sh#t ou of it. The Second Sight 4K Dolby Vision/Atmos remaster is absolutely gorgeous and one of the highlights of their catalogue which, in my opinion, has become a little lacklustre as of late. Superb casting and the chemistry between Gosling and Mulligan is phenomenal...
