I went to the Bullring store today as i was picking up X-men The Wolverine steelie.

Anyway, i asked about Red 2. The lady said it was showing up as £14.99 but i could not pre-order it. I said ok well how many will you be getting in as stock, she said zero, i said ok, so if i can't get pre-order and they have no stock, what can't of HMV exclusive is it?

She said she could not help further.....

I'm off to shoot myself.....

Just to update my own post from last week.

So I returned to the same Bullring HMV store and bumped into the same lady from last week.

She looks at me and says, oh didn't you come in last week asking about Red 2, i said yes.
She then says it was a complete surprise when, at the start of this week, a lorry load of Red 2 steel books suddenly turned up at the store.

I told her that i had contact customer service last week due to her inept position and they told me i could have ordered in store and the store was receiving stock. I also showed her the email with the confirmation order to pick up from store.

Now, it's unlikely that the store would be completely oblivious to the logistics of sending them 200+ steel books, especially when head office placed an order for pick up at the same store.

Anyway, at least we got there in the end....:emb:

Another update on the quality of this SB, for those that have E One's (& HDN's) Seven Psychopaths the SB's are very similar in style, colour and build, which is, you know, excellent :D

Now that I have watched it I have to say that the negative press was a little unfair (though the trailer didn't help), I liked it as food as the first with a change in style which helps keep it a little fresh.

Yeah found 3 left in Uxbridge: 2 perfect, other had a tiny ding possibly a slash on spine, but only the front edge. One will be making its way over water soon :D £14.99 a pop is pretty reasonable in my book. One odd thing I noticed was that it only had security tag on back, none of the usual 2 miles of tapes !!

saw this in HMV livingston they had a few copies on the shelf, thought it looked rather nice just a shame it's a stinker of a film i have no desire to watch again

Picked this up at hmv yesterday, missed it at the cinema so I'm looking forward to:movie:it.
They had about 10 copies on the shelf and the same for man of steel for £17.99.. great price but I'm gonna wait a bit longer before getting it.

Nice steel, and considering it is a new release, the price was good. :D

I enjoyed the first one:thumbs: fun, easy going film.. gonna watch it again (only seen it once when it first came out) then i'll watch 2 (have to do it that way, ocd lol). Its had some bad reviews but I liked the first movie, its nice seeing all these actors get together and say "we've still got it".. its all good fun to me.. :D

The PQ is only so-so. I don't think the compression is good. Is this a BD-25 disc?

I can't comment on the PQ for this yet but I do find it strange when watching a new released film on BD and the PQ isn't that great, I always expect that new means perfect ( maybe a lower budget film wouldn't have the best picture but I would expect it of a high budget film) I was watching back to the future the other day on BD and I thought to myself "it looks like it was made yesterday" it looked amazing. I'm not in the know about all the reasons behind the differences in PQ for different releases.. but I can see when it looks bad. I've also held off buying Dredd Uk BD cos of the bad transfere reviews. Hope red 2 PQ is not too bad, it can be quite distracting

It is not too bad but there are some compression issues. Let me check in my BD-ROM drive. I think this is a single layer disc encoded at a lower bit rate.

Regarding back to the future it is a bad example for PQ as it has got DNR and EE. Please check the discussion thread at tAVS-Forum.

GUYS!!

I seen this in images and in the shops. It has a really streaky finish as you will see. HOWEVER, I noticed 1 copy in HMV Glasgow that has NO STREAKS at all. Very strange.

I don't like the steelbook enough to pay that price however. Before buying, maybe look at a few copies to see if they have "non streaky" ones.
