So it looks like the First Resident Evil WILL be released as a part of this wave. Not sure about Zavvi listing it- But Best Buy has all of the Pop-Art Steelbooks listed, along with this one:

UK first resident evil film distribution is with Fox and not Sony
USA it's a Sony release but UK it's Fox
The other films distributor in UK is Sony but not the first film
It's upto Fox in the UK to do a steelbook release unless Sony can do a deal with Fox to distribute a release under licence
They have done with collection release but not a standalone release

I've ordered the full 5 from Amazon.it, would cancel if I could get the first film in the pop art. I really like the look of the 4 pop arts currently announced but the collector in me would hate missing the first movie.

Yes, APOCALYPSE and EXTINCTION live to pre-order on SATURDAY 7th JANUARY 6PM U.K. time followed by AFTERLIFE and RETRIBUTION on SUNDAY 8th JANUARY at same time

No way will I be ordering these - despite the reported 1,000 copies available of each - until I get confirmation that #1 is coming to steelbook in the U.K. and news of a possible matching steelbook for #6 THE FINAL CHAPTER is forthcoming.
Then, if it's not asking too much (LOL), I'd like the whole collection packaged in a sturdy slipbox for under 60 quid. Thank you very much.

Zavvi responded to someone's comment on Facebook regarding the first film and they said what has been mentioned here, they haven't got it as it is handled by a different studio in the UK.
What will be the best way to get RE1 from abroad then? Do Best Buy ship international?

It will eventually show up on Amazon USA after released give it a month or 2
A lot of best buy releases end up getting general wide release in USA a few months later
Some are best buy exclusives for a period of time Can be 3-6 months
You can be sure third party sellers listings will end up on Amazon

Even though most people are unlikely to pay full price for this one or the other three in this RE Pop Art wave (a couple of reasons that immediately come to mind: #1 is missing here and #6 has not been released in the same style here) I see no harm in downloading a few pics of the steels in question:-
INTERIOR ART = None . . just coloured to match the main colour of the cases.
EXTERIOR ART = Wraparound and looks to be best set out on APOCALYPSE and AFTERLIFE.
