Resident Evil I-IV (Blu-ray SteelBook)(Media Markt Exclusive) [Germany]

Now up for preorder at mediamarkt.de 49,- Euros

This is really ridiculous IMO!!!
Seems to be 2D versions off the Movies, so that is why this can be an "exclusive" to Media Markt and the previous Release (with part 4 in 3D!) is/was exclusive to Media Dealer...

This is exactly what I'm talking about when I said in previous posts that I generally do not like European releases. Besides no inside artwork, they tend to re release alot of titles, killing the collectibility for the collectors. If you read my posts, alot of you might think that they're harsh, and sometimes biased. But in reality, I try to stay away from being as biased as I can. Thats why for me, a true, serious collector should look to Future Shop, if they want to collect for value. I've posted my collection for all to see. Ask yourself, how many titles that I have, has FS re released? Now compare that to the various Euro releases.

I predicted great things for RE Quad. Now its up in the air.

If you collect for money, then you're not a true collector. Sure you have loads of FS Exclusives. I'm sure you'll be very pleased in a few years when the format is dead and they are worthless. On the other hand, I have a bunch of my favourite films in my favourite film packaging that I will enjoy for years to come :scat:

No single individual can define who is, or who isn't a true collector. Collectors, like most things, come in many different varieties. Who are you to pass judgement on anyone? FYI, I truly love steels, hence the multiple copies. I agree that to truly appreciate a steel, it has to be opened, to see both the inside and out. Are you saying that its OK for these companies to claim a "limited production", then turn around and screw over all the collectors that bought their product? If you think I'm the only one upset about this, I suggest that you're severely mistaken.

You are right with rereleases! Most of the times they had changed the artwork a little bit at least!) in germany...
But this now is really a SHAME, The MEDIA DEALER exclusive was released 7 weeks ago and now another german retailer gets the same EXCLUSIVE artwork (the content/discs may be different!)!!!

FS... we will have to wait a little more to see if there will be more rereleases of formerly FS exclusive artwork (happended with the Book of Eli now at Best Buy!) and nearly happened with that IM (glad some great effort changed that!!!)...
I really think the studios are MESSIMG up the collectors :(

But at the end they do not care for collectors, just for profil and that will be maximized if no costs for "new/different" artwork or when known that a particular artwork will SELL FOR SURE!

Hope we will be proven wrong and this will only happen from time to time and will not become a regular thing now :ohno:

That leaves me a little bit confused. You're right though. Everyone has an opinion, yours is just wrong :hilarious:

Whoa, we have ourselves a sharp one here folks. It was very nice that you quoted me, I definitely said that. BUT..... if you were to read whats right next to that, it says "if you were to collect for value". I think you might of jumped the gun on that one my friend. I was actually speaking to 1 kind of collector lol. Hope you're still not confused.

You know what, after I revisited your post, I feel I have to comment on you stating that my collection will be worthless once the new format comes out. Is that what you really think? Tell me something, what do you think has more value? an 80's era NES game? or your so called "new format" game, such as the PS3 or X-Box 360? Any thoughts on that? Perhaps you should check out the bidding on ebay, just so that you won't be "confused".

There's a major difference between games and films. Do you want me to check out your eBay bids for all those rare DVD steelbooks? Thought not. Anyway it's clear that we have differing opinions, I just think that collecting for money is wrong which is essentially what you're doing. Anyway we've gone off topic enough already, so that will be the last from me.

Just to clarify as I've been out of the loop for a while. This one in this thread is different than this one then, in terms of art?
