Okay, I'm a big fan of Arrow & whilst I'm pleased they are releasing this, I'm not impressed with Arrow recently.

Things I've noticed;
  • No more steelbooks with slipbox releases.
  • Diminishing number of releases are of the most premium packaging style e.g. slipbox, thick book, cards etc.
  • Even when they are of that style, they've taken a small hit on quality, like Withnail & I. (slimmer box style & book quality)
  • Increased RRP for the Slipcover & poster (sometimes booklet) editions. Roadhouse Limited Edition now @ £24.99 @ Zavvi & HMV. The same style for Weird Science Limited Edition etc. on release was £21.99 with booklet & poster @ Zavvi & HMV.
  • Inconsistent with this style of edition in what you get included. Always a poster whereas some do not have a booklet but are priced the same e.g. The Last Starfighter Limited Edition had no poster
  • The increase here can only be for the coaster... another £3 for what is likely a cardboard coaster isn't good value.
  • Arrows releases have had a few disc issues recently, so quality control feels like it's decreasing.
  • The recent mini doc on Deep Blue Sea release is another example of this & was startlingly & glaringly bad; again, quality control to not omit this absolute joke from the release is concerning.

I guess I'd ask more ITK Ninjas this... why is this happening? Does Zavvi now own Arrow outright? Is this a recent result of their approach...

I'm not saying Arrow aren't worth investing in or are all of a sudden terrible. I've just noticed the good standards are slipping for my money.

I already know all the links since before 3pm I added to them the limited edition forum and then at the moment is copying those details this arrow forum section

Zavvi does not own Arrow Films and never did
Arrow Films was purchased by THG and not by Zavvi

Are you not aware THG sold Zavvi back to Zavvi management in June 2023 that is why Zavvi has been as Zavvigroup Ltd since 2023
The sale of Zavvi did not include Arrow as Zavvi did not own Arrow Films

Zavvi website as a client is operated by Thg ingenuity platform but Zavvi is not owned by THG since June 2023
THG ingenuity run websites for lots of retailers if you was not aware
Examples
Zavvi
Coca-Cola
Nestle
Gillette UK
Boots and lot more retailers

That's okay Paul, you are welcome.

I just thought it might assist you & others whilst furthering my points, with regards to pricing that I was referring to; seen as your post did not have it updated & I cannot read your mind from this far away.

Im just getting more and more annoyed that they are not being consistent with including the Blu-ray Disc of the feature film in the sets like long kiss goodnight

There is a separate Blu-ray release arrow always do that way with their amaray releases

The long kiss goodnight warner only licenced a 4K release the Blu-ray disc included is Extras

The exception is when arrow do a SteelBook release have film on both UHD and Blu-ray in one release

Thanks Paul, I have just noticed you edited your post & added all the extra information.

I was aware of this but clearly don't retain information as well as someone I know. Thanks Paul.
