This is the only pop art I haven't pre ordered in the current wave. Just a bad film

If this sells out then I know zavvi are doing a fast one to make it look like it's sold out with the others.
No way this film is that popular especially when so many are divided on pop art. 500 or not
Plus this has been announced in Italy and I assume others will get the shared print run. Maybe US and Germany will get listings

I think this art looks like the best of the wave maybe in line with hellboy for me, then Pineapple Express and then Boyz n the hood. I might even cancel Boyz n the hood as I'm going off the art everytime I look at it

like the film don't own any of the steelbooks artwork looks pretty cool imo hope they do knight and day the film was quite entertaining

Was that the cruise/ Diaz film?

If so yeah that was surprisingly decent.
Made me laugh quite a lot actually (the scenes when they are sedated and keep waking up lol)

So far I've gone for Pineapple Express (not seen it yet!)
Hellboy and Salt I've always had a luv/hate approach to PPA just picking the ones I like but the ones I like I really really like if you know what I mean.

Now bring on the others that I'm missing in the collection - DRIVE, THE FIFTH ELEMENT, LEON, THE RAID: REDEMPTION, STRIPES, TOMMY, 2 GUNS, THE EQUALIZER, ZOMBIELAND, THE EVIL DEAD, TERMINATOR 4: SALVATION, THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN . . .

. . . although I wouldn't mind if they held back on these so-called "Pop Art" steels for the U.K.:-

As this appears to be "Sold out" in the U.K. then maybe an ideal chance to put down a few thoughts on these so-called Pop Art / Gallery 1988 / Iconic Art steelbooks.

Firstly, in my opinion the title Pop Art is wrong and none of the artworks bring to my mind what I consider to be Pop Art and I would prefer a title such as Original Art or Custom Art steelbooks as that is what they are with plenty of talent on show from well known artists and graphic designers with many designs especially created for the steelbooks - in other words, you can look through all the original poster images for the films and you won't find these images there. . . just to take seven examples at random-:

Not embarrassed to admit that I'm a fan of these so-called Pop Art steelbooks for various reasons:
- Very individual artwork with hardly any two even similar.
- From vibrant and colourful - KUNG FU HUSTLE - to black and white / dull - DR. STRANGELOVE. and DISTRICT 9.
- From the epitome of elegance - BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA - to almost psychedelic - ZOMBIELAND.
- From figurative - LEON or THE KARATE KID - to almost abstract - TOMMY.

- From full gloss - DESPERADO - to matte - EASY RIDER.
- From embossed - DESPERADO (again) to flat - SNATCH..
. . . and so on and so forth . . . :)
