No we didn't. I own the film vault edition and it doesn't have the original opening text crawl, it was replaced with player generated subtitles as was the location markers. Google it and you will see there are various sources explaining this.

This is strange because I had the VHS which I sold and the DVD (R2) aswell as the Blu Ray and 4K and all have the scroll text

I also have a 2 disc DVD but that has the computer generated text.

Is the US version different to both of these?

I think it was said that only the recent UHD was changed.
I always watched it on US discs, so I don't know.

I bought my DVD in 2003 in the UK so have always seen the crawl text. I assume the majority didn't get that DVD.

The weird thing is this DVD isn't even listed at DVD compare but there are loads of them on ebay

Anyway back to this release I wish the Collectors edition looks better than this artwork as it is one of my favourite films.

Yes that is correct, it was only the 4K disc they messed with in the UK and rest of Europe I think.

Yeah I'm surprised there hasn't been one. I'd assume one was planned with the low single steel UK print run, maybe there's some issue with it etc..

I've not opened mine yet for that reason as I'm thinking of getting the US version instead.
