One of the worst things EB could have done is create an account here.

Why? Cause god forbid they be held accountable for their actions?

While I respect what vague statement we got the other day I cannot see why this couldn't have been released earlier on either their website, FB or here.

It's the worst thing they could've done when the fanboys see their precious EB getting bashed into oblivion but when they're getting all the free publicity through advertising on their products on this site it's not the worst thing then is it?

I don't personally see why all the faith some people have in these guys after just 2 releases, one of which being the shambles they are infamous for. It's not like they've been banging out awesome release after release then his a bump in the road thus earning the benefit of the doubt.

Alas, the sales going forward will tell the tale. Cannot see them shifting 1000 of these at their retail price

It's so blatantly obvious their reputation is severely damaged. If EB had a choice and ignore members on HDN completely they would and they already did.

Without orders and support from the community they have no choice and forced to face the community on HDN EB.

I hardly doubt them coming back is to patch things up. It's the fact they aren't raking in the money.

No orders = No EB.

Very rapid sell out of THE MUMMY trilogy boxset at over 50 quid a pop which was not unexpected with SCOTT PILGRIM taking longer to sell out which was also not unexpected . . . I'd say they're doing just fine, as it goes
Going forward, I wish them all the best in their endeavors and looking forward to a release that I'll be interested in buying (like the "Mummy" set).

Surprised that EBlu is sharing the U.K. print run with Zavvi (or vice versa) for this new steelbook as they ruled that out the last time I suggested it in October 2015:-
Q - The idea of 'Premium Limited Editions' is a good one and a familiar concept to those buyers of premium editions with lenticular sleeves, artcards etc. from other countries.
What is offered here though is not quite what I had in mind when I was thinking about the best way to do this here in the U.K.
What I had in mind was more a partnership with Zavvi but ONLY for their "Ultra Limited Edition" steelbooks (those with print runs of 1,000 or 1,500 or 2,000 max.) with Zavvi allocating a certain percentage to EB, say 10 / 15%, of each of these runs for EB to make more special/more collectable/more desirable. These would then be 'worth' the GBP 25 asking price IMO even though this figure could be as much as GBP 10 over the cost of the original Zavvi steelbook ...virkia, Oct 18, 2015

A: EverythingBluStore - As we said we are working on many different options and trying to carve ourselves into the market. The kind if editions we are after will be competition for what's already out there.

Postage is charged at cost, Royal Mail Business account, all items are sent tracked to avoid any disputes. Unfortunately this also brings the VAT charge as well. Considering it's fully tracked and 2 day delivery for £4.20 to the UK it's a good price. Again, prices come down the more we sell.

The case of splitting runs with zavvi, that's impossible. What we have learned from particular studios is that SteelBooks are designed in house.

It's very easy to say it should be this kind of release or that kind of release but again, you can't just turn up in the market and get any release you wish but building a small portfolio will help us gain bigger titles.

The majority of your suggestions are already being worked on. EverythingBlu does have a large following and we hoped the original members and also new members wanting to support a UK retailer would do so with purchasing a copy of Killer Klowns. Whether you did or not, we are greatly appreciative however you support EverythingBlu, Oct 18, 2015

Interested to see the live pics. I'm willing to give them a chance if the Mummy release goes well and the live pics are good for Scott Pilgrim. It's one of my favorite movies.

Hi Covcraig you said "I cannot see why this couldn't have been released earlier on either their website, FB or here." You are right we should have done ages ago, which was really bad judgement, we took some comments personally when we should of handled them professionally which was a failure on our part.

Also you said "It's the worst thing they could've done when the fanboys see their precious EB getting bashed into oblivion but when they're getting all the free publicity through advertising on their products on this site it's not the worst thing then is it?

We think yes it is the worst thing. We are not looking at Hi Def Ninja and saying wow look at all the publicity our company is getting, we are saying we only have ourselves to blame & we have such a mountain to climb to regain confidence on HDN and we don't have any rope.

We are going to try anyway.

Thanks

I think people forget the grand scale of things when it came to SOTD, it wasn't just the shipping that was a problem, the actual release date was pushed back a couple of times, after people had paid for the item they decided to change certain aspects of the package for example the metal numbering cards and the overall customer service was a disgrace. Then people were waiting months just to get it
While i completely agree here, i was just trying to be a good ninja and put all that aside.
I happen to believe in 'second chances' and 'third time's the charm' sayings, however, goes without saying, proceed with caution.

Completely disagree. What hell are you talking about? If that is true, then is the road to heaven is paved with bad intentions?

You'er right our reputation on HDN is severely damaged because we made some bad decisions, we did not respond to the community the way we should have we should have taken any criticism because it was deserved, but it has nothing to do with sales.

Scott Pilgrim did quite well and we knew it would not be a day one sell out so this was not an issue for us, the issue was there was no good time to come back to HDN and to this day we still have calls to explain the issues that plagued the SOTD release so that's what we are going to do we are just so sorry it took so long.

Thanks for your comment

Though Covcraig's points are valid we really appreciate you giving EB the benefit of the doubt.

Hi Virkia

I just wanted to say one of our biggest regrets is not coming back much much sooner to face the criticism when people like you were giving us the benefit of the doubt.
We are truly sorry for failing everyone who had our back & for not giving the customer service everyone deserved.

Thanks for your comment

Its funny how the retailer pops up with a new release going live. coincidence - i doubt it!. Be interesting to see how the Mummy release goes down..

Hi metalpaul1000

We understand where you'er coming from but the members on HDN are avid collectors and no amount of promotion will entice them to buy anything when they feel disrespected or burned.
We just felt as we said before there was no good time to return to HDN.

From what I can see, even though I may be wrong, is that EB just underestimated how much time is needed to prep a release like this. They also didn't pre-warn customers that there would be extensive delays. I don't have time or the effort required to ***** over something that is now water under the bridge. I don't want to read anything else into it because really, I don't care and have other things to worry about. I think they should be proud of what they have done for their first release as such a small team and just hope they learn from their mistakes, they know what they did wrong and what they can improve on. Time will tell with other releases, their next few could be make or break for them.

I'm really happy with the fullslip that I received. The art cards were crap, but the steel and slip were good. No damage to either, no minor scratches or imperfections that blight even the veterans of premium steel releases.

I haven't pre-ordered the Mummy or Scott because of the delay in SOTD, but more because I don't want premium releases of those movies. I'll be back for Hot Fuzz if that ever happens

Hi davhyl

No you are not wrong we did underestimate the time needed to get everything in place, we spent way too long looking at steelbooks holding them up to the light and looking for the slightest imperfections and rejecting steelbooks other retailers would have let through without a thought, looking back we rejected steels that were perfectly acceptable. We also didn't have enough people working on packaging, a lot of members thought we left HDN because we just had enough of the negative comments the truth is we needed everyone on packaging.

By the time we returned to HDN there were so many negative comments some called us liars others said we were trying to rip off members even though as far as i am aware every single refund in or outside PayPal were honoured. We just feared the backlash from members if we returned I think low moral played an unconscious roll in that decision, not that it justifies any of the poor decisions we made.

Looking back we are not happy with the cards that's a detail that slipped through the cracks but we have learned from this and I cant wait until you see the next ones.

As for learning from our mistakes we most definitely have but this will have to be shown with actions.

Thanks for your comments.

Dear customer,

Due to some last minute print design improvements to the case, the manufacturers have moved the completion of our slipcases back to a later date. Due too this we have had to push back the release to November 15th.

After receiving the first example we have decided to make the following improvements; The paper stock for the slips has been upgraded to a mirror effect and this will add a whole new level of detail to the slip. Also, the guitar pick has been changed to a thicker grade for a more premium feel. The multi-level embossing has had a further level added, creating even more detail.

In hand shots are coming very soon.

We apologise for the date change but we feel this is necessary to bring you the best Scott Pilgrim release possible. A cost has been incurred by these improvements but EverythingBlu is of course, more than happy to cover those costs to deliver an even better quality release.

Thank you,

EverythingBlu
