Delays are inevitable if you don't have the set-up to cope . . . and I consider it reasonable to err on the side of patience than impatience for this their first major release .. . and, yes, it's fair to suppose that they were totally snowed under by the sheer amount of orders and that they misjudged the time frame it would take them to pack and dispatch all of said orders.

Of course some will say that they should never have taken on this massive first run exclusive of 4,000 steelbooks - particularly considering their first exclusive KILLER KLOWNS was only for 300 units. . . . and that they should just have thrown in the towel before they'd even started . . . but then of course there would be no lovely SHAUN OF THE DEAD Blubox . . .
Furthermore, you can be sure no other company would have come up with such a premium box for a U.K. steelbook release. The best Zavvi can come up with is the TRANSFORMERS 1 - 4 boxset and before that the flimsy box for the BREAKING BAD COLLECTION neither of which is in the same league as the SotD Blubox

- The numbered cards look really nice from what I've seen .. . with great colour and definition.
- It was always going to be the Blubox sealed over the J-card and it was always going to be unsealed slips/steelbooks inside the box.
- Mismatched numbered cards in the box stinks.

It would have been manageable if they only released 300 copies. Maybe the prospects of more profits got the better of them or him.

There first was mistake was posting on a public forum in the first place. They will not be returning.
You're probably right, although I personally think it's not a mistake to engage with your potential customers whatsoever, by having a good relationship with your customers, it adds to the potential of repeat business.
If they at the very least came on here and acknowledged the issues, they would most likely get a bit more breathing space.

Clearly they are making it worse for themselves

If I was a retailer doing these exclusives, I for one would not engage on a public forum. IMO that is a mistake. The problem with this you will open yourself up to a can of worms when you keep responding to everyone. You either stay on the forums or dont engage. Facebook / Twitter would had been better, such as Manta Lab, Filmarena etc.

The problem with EB is they engaged themselves, opened up a can of worms, now decided to leave the forums which has made it worse lol.

Moreover it gives the impression that they only came on the forums to grab our money and once that was achieved they can't be bothered to sort out the mess they have created.

It was certainly most useful that EBlu came on here to reveal a ton of information about the product (some welcome, some not) and I sincerely hope they'ill come back to close this thread before the middle of the month to reveal that all orders have been fulfilled and (finally) dispatched.
Very cool to have a retailer on here bothering to interact with potential customers, answering questions etc. . . . like when Zavvi came on the DOCTOR STRANGE thread posting useful information and giving the nod when it came back in stock etc. Can't see HMV doing that on the threads for their exclusive steelbooks although would be excellent if they did.

Now where can I find an empty mint condition Blubox plus one s/h mint copy of this new steelbook to make up my own budget package containing both U.K. SotD steelbooks - this new steelbook and the previous horizontal edition - plus two steelbook clear slips to put them in ?

Threads don't close after their initial release and EB doesn't have the privileges to do so.

Speaking of a can of worms, any possibility EB will do a special edition of Squirm?:) Apropos, since the delay on that one would make us squirm also.

As EB is pretty much a one man part time wanderer, they needed all the help they could get to begin with and needed the forum to promote themselves. It's as if they started this project with hardly any capital and grabbed all the cash first like you said, sucked us in. Then went tits up and now left as fast as they could with a huge sack of cash. Their last response was these will be done by the bank holiday weekend (end of the 9th day of dispatch date). LOL. Now it's 21 days...

I follow a few peeps on Twitter that have been waiting for their Shaun of the Dead orders, but they have been getting a response. Believe the last contact one of them had with EB was yesterday so they are still around, just not as quick as we would like.

I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Those that have received their orders I've seen nothing but praise so far so the product must be quality.
Stay strong peeps, I'm sure EB will sort you all out. (Or maybe I'm trying to make myself feel better because I ordered The Mummy boxset and I don't want these problems to occur with my own order)

The mummy box will be the deciding factor for me to continue with their line ups. I just hope it is as good as they hyped. They have a lot to do over the next few months. They need to clear SOD while working on the mummy.
