Man, my open copy has a tiny ding on the bottom left corner that was well hidden behind the shrink wrap 
Hopefully I can swap it out tomorrow, that is if there are any good one's left.

Just picked up one at my local bb. They had about 10 on the rack. I opened mine and everything was minty fresh until I checked the spine...it has a line in the middle. I think its from the employee who used a box cutter to unpack these from the boxes. I have this problem on a couple of my steelies. Sucks.
Is it weird I was tempted to go to Best Buy today to buy this when I already have the Canadian version on it's way

i'm in the same position as you, but i went any way
it's just the cool feeling of going to the store n look for it,,,
My local Best Buy had zero steels on the shelf. Not even a sticker on the shelf with the steels price. Luckily I pre-ordered for store pickup. Here is a pick of 1 + 2 together. 
Went to BB when they opened yesterday. Went straight for the new release rack and the Steelbook was no where to be found. I asked one of the employees stocking movies and she said she had just put the out in the S section of movies. They only had 2 copies and one was dented. So obviously i grabbed the undamaged one. Glad i went when they opened!!
This steel looked better than I thought it would.
I almost did not get mine though......
I did store pickup though when they brought the bluray out it was the movie only version. Go figure. I corrected him and told the cashier that there was still 2 on the floor and I am going to go grab one. Luckily both were in excellent condition. (I only grabbed one though.)

This is why I am always afraid to do the store pickup and would rather just be there at 10am when they open and not have to worry about it.
I am curious how fast they will go, I am going to check on Friday and see if they are all gone. It seems steels have been flying off the shelf lately.
You know they will exchange it for you if you bring it back. They will just open the new one at the store to make sure there is no damage before you leave.
Yeah I brought in my damaged copy and exchanged it for a minty fresh one with no problems!

I'm curious ... how many copies did your BB have left? I remember back when Green Lantern (G1-sized) steelbook came out, copies at my local BB were gone in less than a day, which is why I preordered the Sherlock Holmes 2 steelbook.

My BB only had 2 and i was there as soon as they opened! 1 of them was damaged. I went to another BB close to my work yesterday and they had 0 in stock. I also noticed that the WB Steels at both BB are almost nonexistent.
Yes, that was my fear. I'm glad that I preordered and that it arrived mint (though the packaging was terrible ... just a thin "bag").
I have heard of this at quite a few Best Buys with this Steelbook. I wonder if the employees are keeping some for themselves. This latest wave of Warner Steels has generated a lot of new collectors to steelbooks.
I went in on release day and they had about 10 copies and then I went back the next day to exchange and they had about the same copies on release day. Kinda wierd because Underworld Awakening was all sold out the day after release.
Out of 9 copies delivered to my door, 2 were acceptable. LOL. Going to Best Buy tomorrow for a huge return of those and about 20 of the Warner wave that are all damaged.
My store had 9 of them left today. And a ton of the Warner titles. I picked up mint copies of Shawshank and Gran Torino.
I was in a Kansas City BB today and they had at least 15 copies of this.
I went to a Best buy on my way to school yesterday. The store had 2 copies in the metal push display for new releases. It was sad because the back copy had a crease in the back and the front copy had scratches along the bottom.
There was also a copy of the Underworld steelbook. Unfortunately it had a floater and 2 dings on the spine. It would be a nice if the steelbooks were stocked more carefully
