I copied and pasted the text from my Zulu post, this actually has a matte like finish like Shooter and Saving Private Ryan from the last wave

Oh man! I'm gutted now lol. I have this on the way (hopefully today). Oh well, i'm sure it'll still be ok.

But it also made me think. Should I now purchase Zulu? Glossy finishes are very rare now. I hate Zulu as a movie though.

Yes this still looks great, but the finish is the same as the last wave (not sure how to put it, it's not matte like the Fox wave but it's not proper glossy, it's somewhere in between). Zulu however looks fully glossy to me and as you say that is pretty rare nowadays.

my shutter island came with a big scratch inside, wot a surprise

Mine was the same mate , it ain't a scratch it's a very fine bit of hairline plastic.
I flipped the front off very carefully with a stanley knife blade and just wiped the offending bit with a microfibre cloth and it disappeared.

mine's the same, it looks like scratches inside but im sure it's just plastic/glue. I'm just too lazy to take the front off and clean it

Only the text is glossy on this (similar to how Shooter was part matte, part gloss). However the matte paint is nice and thick, not like the cheap Fox wave from earlier. Also, I swear the outside edges of the top and bottom are slightly glossy (more so than the front and back). The silver on the front has a stunning shine to it as well. Looks superb when tilted in the light!

EDIT: Those marks are bits of loose glue (from the spine attaching I guess) that must slip under the plastic when it gets put together. Every other steelbook I buy seems to have these (not an issue as they come off, just saying). Surprised others haven't noticed these before.

yeah I don't know if its exactly a scratch lol, il give that a try see how it goes cheers

Just got mine today. It looks good but it is definitely more Matt than glossy finish which is a shame. For £10.99 though you can't complain!

Me too, nothing has turned up Looks awesome but they definitely missed a trick with having it matte and not glossy.
