I haven't

Cool story, bro.

Is this a serious thing? Does it need to be high gloss in order to wipe the **** off?

Unnecessarily crude.

it really depends on the artwork, and if that price drops waaaay down.

If you don't believe or haven't seen the numerous comments stating so, then know this: This is England and La Haine are £29.99 (RRP). that's why it says you save £12.00 above the £17.99 price. This will be £17.99.
Be sensible, people. There is no reason to suspect this will cost you £30.

If this has the poster artwork as the front (instead of the back on the Best Buy US one) I think this could be the best edition to own. Will wait to see art before deciding.

The BB nailed it pretty good. Hard to top that unless Jessica Alba has less clothing on or maybe if she was fully embossed  as stated above^ :naughty: Now that would be the best edition to own. Or Rosario Dawson's big 'ole wet tounge :naughty:

Here's a pic of the Tarantino/Rodriguez Collection

This movie/steelbook is still available from several different avenues so in my eyes, it's beating a dead horse with a steelbook.

This wont beat the Canadian/US version I would put the house on that!
It will be artwork we have already seen considering its not WEA

Needs to have both cuts like the German release + glossy artwork for me to buy this.

Already have the German and glossy Canadian steel, however I couldn't get a mint cad steel - both turned up with dent or scratched spine. If you make a hybrid of those 2 steels you pretty much have the perfect Sin City steel.

This steel is a winner as long as it has both cuts of the feature film... Canadian/Alliance version is Bi-lingual.... German version has the horrible printed-text back. I don't think we need to worry about either of these flawed designs with a UK release....

We don't know it won't be WEA since I created the thread and not one of the admins. Zavvi don't supply that information in their listings, so it's very possible it will be WEA, it's just that the information confirming either way hasn't been supplied to any of the admins yet.

+1 I can't see Zavvi releasing something better than what has already been released. IMO, it's a waste of a steel. At least I Saw the Devil and This is England are original.

Not for people who don't have this in steelbook form. I think it's odd when a steel is released in one country they think that means everyone who wanted it got it and there should be no more. I don't buy from abroad so this is my first ever opportunity to get a Sin City steel. Hardly a waste.

I think really people are just hoping it isn't better so they don't have to buy it.

This will sell out (Limited to 2,000 copies)
You have to remember its a UK release
First time a UK steelbook of Sin City

Zavvi are UK
Majority of there customers are UK and Rep of Ireland

Some people from the UK/Ireland import steelbooks but a lot don't

So this will sell well in the UK/Ireland market and some from abroad will import this who don't already have this or they double dip as some do

When Zavvi release a Steelbook its primary market is the UK/Ireland
But they gain also from people abroad who import
That happens more with Zavvi releases people abroad importing than UK customers importing from abroad

I rarely import Steelbooks from the USA or Germany only very odd occasion
I have never ordered a release from Canada
I do import USA standard Blu-ray releases (Not Steelbooks) if it has better extras or better picture quality and when its a box set with brilliant extras
Ben Hur Box Set
JFK Box Set
ETC
But I primary order from the UK the majority of releases that become available

Also you have to remember there are now lot more new steelbook collectors in the past year and is one of the reasons lot of studios are now releasing lot of steelbooks
Look at the amount of releases alone this year so far compared to last year

If you already have a Sin City steelbook there will be plenty who don't already have one

If the Artwork on this is good and includes both discs it will be 100% purchase for me

problem is that u are most likly to be the minority…. in this digital age it is spectacularly easy to buy a steelbook from almost anywhere in the world and have it delivered 2 your door hassle free… and even if u choose not too for whatever reason, loads of collectors will :movie:

A uk “exclusive" is really no different to a USA “exclusive”, lest higher postage fees... This is why when a steelbook which has already been released 4 times elsewhere in the world gets another release, is considerd 2 be most definately a waste of a steelbook :movie: ....especially when looking at other similar films which have 1 terrible release (ala The Spirit), or nothing at all like all those movies in the Feedback forum :movie:

Another reason why this is also a waste of time, is that those who love the film already and consider themselves to be big fans of the title, surely already own at least 1 of the previous 4 sin city steelbooks and are much less likly to buy this (under normal circumstances) compared to another popular title with zero appearances in steelbook form :movie:

The metalpak is crap
First canadian had a blu banner
German was flat and matte
New us one was glossy but flat
There is definitly room for improvement and the only people moaning are the ones who cant be bothered to sell what they already have. No one is forcing you to buy this

i hope so, i have only bought 2 steel books from abroad, this and V for Vendetta and within a week they have been released over here, i would much rather only buy from the UK because if there are any problems it is much easier to sort them out, i guess i will buy this again and sell my Canadian one, as the one thing i really don't see the point in is having two copies of the same film just cause the font is different, but then again, i only buy films i like, the steel book part is secondary, but i may be in the minority on this site with that.
