Riverdancing vampires... For the rest I did not see anything I did not see before.

Art is subjective and everyone’s got a right to their opinion, no argument there. But if you’re gonna call a movie "an overrated pile of sh*t", you should be able to back that up with more than just a throwaway like “Riverdancing vampires". If your biggest issue is that you’ve “seen it all before,” then i guess you must hate Tarantino movies too. His movies are basically a mashup of stuff from older films. For me, i don't think i've seen a movie with mix horror, drama, supernatural, historical themes and musical sequences before. The cinematography, production design, strong performances, score and sound - all stands out. So in my opinion it's a bit unfair to call this movie "a pile of sh*t".

Someone correctly noted that DL-A is too similar to the steelbook, and indeed half the actors' photos are exactly the same, just placed differently, and the back photo is also the same, just from a slightly different angle.

DL-B is as boring, as the WWA steel, so that leaves the Fullslip, where at least I like the back...

What exactly was overrated in your opinion ?

Plus it's too racist...

The more I look at the steelbook mock up it’s annoying me. The front really looks washed out in every image and the back is awful. The DL A front should’ve been the steelbook art. And then pick a different poster for the DL.

The official poster is the same so imo it’s going to look bad as a steelbook with no white base layer which manta usually skip.

Why could they not just choose the DL A as the steel if they wanted the group shot for it and then this for the Lenti. Would’ve been a perfect set

YES
saw this movie a couple days ago
then find out there is only one steel for the whole world
and it's ugly
and now this happens
going for FS
love the back

The picture's first hour is a masterclass in world building and characterization. Didn't care for the final hour's genre trappings.

OC it is.

Funny how opinions can diverse. For me the build up felt empty meaningless and boring also picture wise it felt it was just oke ish. Dont get me wrong i like slow character build ups, a movie that takes time to introduce characters emotions intresting deep dialogue and all that. But this one just didnt grab me at all so i wouldn't call this masterclass far from that even. It felt they'd just filling in the screen time before all hell breaks loose, everything felt irrelevant to the last chapter perhaps only the singing and dancing. Maybe thats the whole point but i felt if they'd add a greater meaningfull story upfront i perhaps would have liked it alot more.

I could see how a lot of viewers would appreciate one half of the film to the inverse of myself. Personally, I just have a natural predilection to compelling, well rounded characters, crackerjack dialogue and engrossing storytelling over plot development and genre tropes is all. In my modest opinion, if the picture had gone down the crime thriller/drama path it was ostensibly heading towards, versus the overtly horror detour I believe it unnecessarily took, it would have been all the better for it, although I did find the film's final klan killing action set piece to be a moderately satisfying denouement.

:shipped: Sorry buddy I've been feeling particularly sleep deprived for a disconcerting length of time and my proof reader has too much self respect to review anything I post on here, so any attempt to make sense of this garbled mess will have to be made on your own.

In all fairness, your post wasn't exactly optimized for reading comprehension either, except I didn't choose to be such a tool about it

My 'issue' with the film is that it was so hyped and yet it's basically the same film as From Dusk Till Dawn

Just expected so much more when I saw it so I just feel it's massively overrated. I actually had no plans on owning it but then this Manta Lab edition came along and we all know the rest

No, it's ok bud. I'm used to conversations like this with my teenage brother, when i try to explain things to him, his responses are pretty much the same.
I know how your brother must feel. I have the same issue with people who think they know how I should think about movies and their releases ;)
