Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Really unimpressed with Amazon today. I contacted them about my damaged copies and was sent an email today saying that they had no idea if they would be getting in any more stock from which to supply replacements.

I then discover later that a large restock was put up for sale today and promptly sold out. And yet still no replacement copies for people who've received damaged stock? That stinks, Amazon.

That sounds a bit out of order. You would have thought they would've sorted out the damaged returns before releasing more stock. I never got an email either letting me know they were back in stock. It was only being bored at work that I saw on here and able to order one. I have a copy here with a blue line on (no spine slash) and another coming that I ordered today before mine arrived today. If any of them are ok for you (hopefully the later is perfect), then instead of sending back to Amazon I could send on to yourself at cost.

Seems to me that Amazon will just keep ordering more and more as long as people are buying them. No 4k print runs likely for any future exclusive. The print run on Skyfall has to be closer to 8-10k, maybe more given the unprecedented demand.

I finally got mine today...yup you guessed it, slashed spine...not the worst Ive seen Ive had some in the past that have taken chunks out of the front and back cover edges, this is just a light scratch, but still bloody annoying

With how well this is selling I am still at a loss why no US or Canadian release, the first US G2's were Bonds this makes no sense to me.

Also why no Casino Royale release (I have the german release why no Uk, US or CN release) and no Quantum of Solace release not to mention the other 10 bond movies they skipped. Finish the series and maybe try and make them uniform (Goldeneye while very nice doesn't match the other 9 Bonds).

yeah that sucks

i discovered mine lying around in my garden this morning ( i guess the postman just threw it over the fence into my garden ) and the package was opened , luckily no dents but the plastic wrapping was not intact anymore and i discovered a nasty scuff on the back and it also has the blue line on the spine

i immediately contacted amazon through chat and i was already prepared that they would propose me a partial refund but i was kinda surprised i was offered a replacement as they told me it was back in stock again ... the biggest surprise however is that i can keep my slightly damaged copy for free and that a replacement is already shipping soon

i am sure that if i would have contacted them yesterday or on monday that they would have offered me a partial refund and no replacement so i totally understand that this is not fair to people who received damaged copies and contacted amazon at the beginning of the week, they should have been offered the same solution as was offered to me today

It's a major problem now as amazon know people won't just go and use hmv and play and that they are the only decent supplier online now (aside from the hut group which to be honest are awful) so they won't care like they used to before. If these had come from hmv there would have been no slashed spinegate imo.

Thats the problem. Because it fetches high prices on ebay, everyone wants a few copies to sell. Muppets i say.

Received mine today, luckily both mint, but have to say, I'm a bit disappointed with the design. I expected the front artwork much lighter, with greater contrast. Off to watch it now, to see if it comes close to Casino Royale.

I really think that is poor business with amazon. I had the same thing with japan. I had a dented steel and they said no replacement and then the next day they restocked and then it is now OOS. Damged steels need to be taken care of first.

Clearly this is not the case. If so explain why Life of Pi and Willow (also Fox titles) appear to be out of stock at Amazon? I think they did not anticipate demand and as such the amount of stock they received was not enough. I imagine this will be back in stock again.

Luckily my copy arrived today and it looks mint. I have thought about selling it, but I think i'm just going to keep it and be glad I got one in good condition.
