Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

I just spoke to 2 Amazon reps and both checked on the system and said they are not expecting any more copies.

Not saying that's reliable info though - the reps seem to be the last ones to find out anything.

I have seen this too often. For example with Dark Knight Steelbook Trilogy exclusive to Amazon.de

It never came up.

Received replacement steel from amazon today to replace the slashed spine copy. This now has a raised paint chip right on Craig's suit just above the handkerchief.

Now decision time, what's better. Slashed spine or white paint chip on Craig's suit.

Damn it.

Can you not just switch out the best bits of both to make 1 mint steel? (for example, take the front panel off from the slashed copy and swap it with the front of the other which has the chip).

Will need to view that thread on removing the front of the steel. Didn't want to open it, but i suppose a mint unsealed steel is better than a sealed slashed spine or a sealed paint chipped steel.

Just got mine in perfect condition. I was all when reading all the stories of slashed spines and ordered another when it came back in stock. Hope that one is good too but at least I got a mint one the first time around.

I received mine today and to be honest I am not too happy with it.

The images of both Daniel Craig and the Aston Martin look low resolution, they look fine from a distance but up close they look awful. I just expected better quality for a big budget film like Skyfall.

Same here. The back especially looks awful. Overrated SB IMO. Crap films get the best treatment not blockbusters.

Got mine.... Now I know how other members feel when you receive a package where it has a slashed spine and dents. Mine had both... Not the postal fault as box was not damaged. I guess it was at the manufacturers.. Amazon should really have a quality control unit to inspect these before they send them out...

I miss play.com... always got everything in perfect condition with them.. Hopefully this will be the last damaged steelbook from Amazon.
