Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

I'm not so certain it's OOS to be honest, but if indeed it is then I think I've worked out why! No doubt you'll be able to help a couple of collectors get their pants back up again

I had 1 in my basket but logged off, just went back after the price went up and simply changed my order quantity to 4, bagging them all at £11.89!

With HMV in trouble before ordering their supply, there is a good chance that numbers will be less than people believe. I'm not sure they would have committed so much financially to the supply of one item. Also bare in mind that HMV had a good record of selling out with previous steelbooks. Add the fact that the price is almost identical to the amaray, then many non collectors will also pick one up to. Time will tell.

I was wondering when this might go OOS so I did a stock check last night and it was still allowing me to add 999 copies to basket. Hard to believe that many copies sold in a day, but then the Japanese one sold at a phenomenal rate too, so who knows.

I'm wondering now if the French and German editions will also go OOS before release date. :eek:

The german one is to expensive. Most won't pay 25€ for it and will hope for a price drop. And the german print run will be much higher, too.

Just called 999 and tipped them to raid your house and recover the missing stock.

Not convinced that this can go OOS this soon.

The 'sign up to be notified' message does suggest a restock, even if a limited one. You know it's all over when it goes permanently to 'available from these sellers'.

This must be the first time in a while that a UK pre-order has disappeared more quickly than the Taiwan version!

Might it also be due to the slip? This seems to be the only slip revealed so far that is a continuation of the cover art. Don't see this often on UK steels if I do remember correctly..

I think it's many things - popularity of the movie, price same as the amaray version, 'continued art' slip, limited exclusive status, appeal to Bond fanatics - put them all together and it makes for a very attractive release.

Yes correct. This also lowers the stock levels fast, if normal amarays will be steelbooks.

I think Amazon deliberately pulled this out to give some breathing time to stay away from requests to drop price to 11.98.
