Hope I have this in the right place. I'd like to get some hard cases for my more valuable steels. They seem hard to get. A seller on Ebay Germany is selling them, but won't ship to Canada. but was unable to get any. Can anyone help?:(

Anyone know which case would fit my Boardwalk Empire season 1 with box slip. I know it fits in the SCF1 but i'm looking for one with 3 sides so it just slides in. Any help much appreciated.

If you provide the exact dimensions of the case in millimeters I can check to see if it fits the German Steelshell Jumbo sleeves...

i got the one from blu-steels, very nice for jumbos and till today the normal ones worked for each Lenticulaversion of Movies i have bought :)
thou i wish they could be a little thicker

I ordered a bunch of sleeves from Steelbook Central and they're a good quality. Unfortunately, they don't fit Steelbooks with slipcovers (like the North American Sleeping Beauty and Snow White) or slipcovers/digipacks which are slightly thicker or wider. Are there any sleeves that will fit these? I assume the jumbo sleeves will, but they don't sell them individually in any of the links in the first post.

Also, is there a plastic slipcover that's open on one side that will fit Steels with slips like the Kimchi full slips or the Sleeping Beauty/Snow White I mentioned before? It looks like the only ones that do are the ones with all four sides sealed which I don't want.

I have some additional questions as well.

Is there any aspect that makes the SCF1 better than the kimchidvd shells? SCF1 is a little more expensive after shipping to the U.S. I know SCF1 wouldn't have a logo. I need the shells to fit full lenticular slips like Tangled's.

Is there any shell that will fit full lenticular slips like Tangled that are even cheaper than kimchidvd's?

I got the Kimchi sleeves today (my first steelbook cases). Definitely better than polybags, but they're too roomy for bare steels (there's a weird bend). They don't close perfectly (maybe I need to add tape). I barely managed to fit my UP Blufans w/ lenticular (opened) in one, but it's too tight. They're best for steels with 1/4 slips. This is all with open steels by the way. Think I'll try something else next and see how they compare. Like I said, way better than polybags, but could be better.

Alright guys, I finally got around to taking pictures comparing two fully enclosed cases. Video game box protectors (click on playstation, and then on ps3 to see the cases) and SCF1 from steelbook central.

Platoon is in video game box protectors and Braveheart is in SCF1. I did my best taking pictures trying to compare them lol, I'm by no means a pro at using cameras...haha

Two pictures side by side comparisons, one flash, one no flash

Just showing the back of them (notice the flap on the top end of case compared to SCF1, edit it seems after a while the flap flattened out eventually)

Trying to show the difference in height here. The one closest in the picture if video game box protectors. You can see SCF1s are 'roomier'

In my opinion, video game box protectors are great substitute for people that live in the U.S. They fit open steelbooks really snug. My friend says sealed steelbooks like there will be blood fit perfectly, but I have not tried it.

Though if you're in the UK..stick to those SCF1s. I WISH I had free shipping on them lol

Thanks for this, ordering 25 from videogameboxprotectors. Can a link to them be put in the OP?

I think you will enjoy the cases. They ship 1st class and package them really well, pieces of tissue paper in between in cases to protect from scratches and they ship in a big bubble mailer that is folded.

Just got a 10-pack from videogameboxprotectors as well. They've since also added a bluray steelbook section (but I think they're just the same as the PS3 version). They're pretty great and a way better value for US residents.

Also, just to be clear, are SFC1's the only ones that can fit steelbooks with full slipcovers, like the KimchiDVD exclusives?

I did a review on 3 Types of Protective Sleeves from Steelbook central

the 3 types are
SC1 - this sleeve is open at both ends (spine and gripping area to opened steelbook)
SC2 - the normal sleeve
SCf1 - fully inclosed sleeve

Written review can be found on soreelflix

Here is the Video in-which A Ninja demonstrates and performs tests on the sleeves midway

I ordered 540 from Blu steels. They shipped on April 4th and are still in the preparing for shipment stage and this guy takes 2 weeks to reply to emails. It's the slowest shipping ever and cost me 70 bucks to ship. Awful customer service. I'm worried I'm never going to get anything.

I purchased from videogameboxprotectors as well... Very are easy to use.

Works great on opened steelbooks, although snug for sealed copies with paper or cardboard backing. Full slip steelbooks won't fit but if they are able to come up with one that does, would be awesome.

I agree it is well worth it, especially for US collectors as they much more cost effective.

I got my slips from videogameboxprotectors and am happy with them. As has been mentioned, they don't fit over steels with slips. They're good for my open bare steels. I'll be ordering some more from them and kimchiDVD (for my slipped steels).

Yeah too bad the VGP ones aren't just a little more bit roomy :D They look great

My sealed 47 Ronin from TW fit in one of theirs nicely but any thick slip/card or looser wrapping does not.

It's only open on one spine side. All other sides are enclosed. You can kind see the way it folds on the edge closest the camera, two tabs that fold into two slots.

They also make a jumbo sized one which goes perfectly with my Walking Dead season 3s.

Hey dfoles, great work on this thread. Just wondering whether I'm seeing things or not but are there folds along the spine on those steelshells? Not sure if it's the light or reflections etc. They're probably the best looking sleeves I've seen if not. Thanks.

Their shipping may take a little longer than the others but they are worth the wait- easily the best quality and best looking sleeves for steelbooks imo.
