After hearing that the SteelBook for The Italian Job has been put back to 2014, I immediately thought to myself "45th anniversary edition"! This got me thinking - What other film titles are due a special anniversary this year or next?

Anything released in 1979 would be 35 in 2014 - The obvious classic is Ridley Scott's Alien, which means that'll be another excuse for 20th Century Fox to re-release it! Other notable films released in 1979 include The Black Hole, Rocky II, Apocalypse Now, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Amityville Horror, Mad Max, Monty Python's The Life Of Brian, Quadrophenia, Scum, and The Muppet Movie!

1984 has a ton of cult classics, and anything released in this year would be 30 in 2014 - Stand-out titles include Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom (due this year), Beverly Hills Cop (which is being released soon), Gremlins, Footloose, The Karate Kid, Police Academy, Romancing The Stone, 2010, Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, Cannonball Run II, Conan The Destroyer, Dune, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Supergirl, The Terminator (released recently), and This Is Spinal Tap!

1989 will be the 25th anniversary of plenty more classic 80's films - Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade (due this year), Batman (released within the next month), Back To The Future Part II, Lethal Weapon II, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Look Who's Talking, Ghostbusters II, The Little Mermaid (due this year), The Abyss, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Cyborg, K-9, The Punisher, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, and most importantly, The Wizard starring Fred Savage!

1994, 1999, and 2004 all have their fair share of titles celebrating a significant anniversary next year, as do some older films - 1974 has Blazing Saddles celebrating its 40th! 1969 has The Italian Job (which inspired this thread), Easy Rider, plus a ton of classic westerns, which would all be 45! 1964 has Mary Poppins and The Pink Panther, both celebrating a full half centenary!

It's highly likely that we'll see some of these released as SteelBooks next year to celebrate their respective anniversaries. It wouldn't surprise me in the least!

What films would you like to see celebrate a landmark anniversary in SteelBook form in 2014? Let's see how many we can predict will get released!
