Why do I get the feeling zavvi are going to be back to their old tricks of announcing too many steels and over time over saturating the UK market again.

It feels like it did a few years back when they were on the brink of going crazy with titles.

It didn't work out too well for them causing many to hit silly price drops and for the majority still in stock. which is why over past year+ they haven't over done it. Just when you think they learn

Mind you most of these zavvi exclusives lately have been available in other European countries so I suppose there was no stopping them hitting the UK

Bit of a let down in the artwork department. I have always loved the marketing materials with Sil in a half transformed pose, and with this you get none of that.

Fair play in trying a different direction, but for this film I just don't think it has paid off with that art.

What is it with Fox and their artwork designs.

Last time I passed on so many titles including The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Rocky Horror Picture Show because of these designs, now Species is another one to add to the list. They're not always titles I'd been waiting for, or even thought about, but with theatrical poster art would definitely have picked up.

The same goes for their James Bond wave. While I appreciate what Fox were trying to do, if they'd used some poster art instead I would have bought the lot.

So...that art is bad. I just got the new Scream factory release of the film with slipcover with new artwork last week, and that's really stunning. This, just terrible. Typical Zavvi, saturate the market with old films with poor artwork for new release prices.

I'd rather have ONE good classic movie that's been unreleased in the uk so far in steelbook form with the classic movie artwork than ten titles with poor artwork (e.g: The Gate, Monster Squad, Death Becomes Her, Masters of the Universe, Gattaca).

They need to look towards the company who released Innerspace recently, absolutely stunning example of a great steelbook for an older movie.

Buy THE BOUNTY, SMASH PALACE, or NO WAY OUT instead.
This was the beginning of a long dark slide for Roger Donaldson.
It was also BOSS FILM STUDIOS first foray into working with computer generated effects (instead of models) - and it shows.
