Creative Director Bryan Intihar provided more details on the newly announced Spider Man game.

• Spider Man is the biggest game ever for Insomniac, and the most ambitious game ever for Marvel.
• It’s an open world game.
• The game has been in development for “quite some time.”
• It’s not part of the films, and Insomniac is doing a bit of its own thing and “mixing things up” to an extent. It’s an original story, and this was an opportunity for Insomniac Games to create “their own Spider Man universe.” It still respects the tradition of the franchise but the developers can afford to take some liberties, for instance with the design of Spider Man’s suit, that could be seen in the trailer.
• It’s getting better and better every day as development progresses.
• This is a story where Spider Man’s world and Peter Parker’s world collide. It focuses on who is the man under the mask, and who the man becomes after he puts the mask on.
• The game is confirmed as a PS4 exclusive, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
• Spider Man is a working title, for now.

I ended up pre ordering the non statue collectors edition from Game.

I’ve never actually pre ordered a PS4 game before but I can’t wait for this

I hope the steelbook is decent artwork too.

I noticed in the description for both collectors editions things are worded slightly differently like the “mini art book” with the statue version and “small art book” with the other but I assume they are typos and both are the same contents minus the statue and extra DLC due to one saying “custom steelbook” and one saying just “steelbook”

As much as I have issues with Game they don't take money until near release. They even email you a few days before telling you to make sure you have money in your account as they will charge you soon, which is pretty good. They're not like Zavvi though where if you have a payment problem they let you resolve it, Game just cancel the order.

Must admit there have been a few games of late (South Park and Destiny’s Sequels, both of which I have steelbooks for too)

I have both amazing Spider-Man games on digital PS3(yes I still own and use my PS3) as well as TASM2 on PS4 disc, which i have no intention of trading or selling anytime soon.

It really is all about swinging around and for me, spotting NYC landmarks or places i visited(some parts of the ingame cities remain faithful)

WOuld love the placeholder artwork, full gloss, with either type of ‘bossing on the white spider logo.
Doubtful as most game steels I own are Matte and flat (shadow of Mordor is a huge and glorious exception mind)

I now have a feeling that artwork is actually the steel art. When I see the beauty shot the other week I remember reading that the statue will be revealed in the summer and for some reason i thought the steelbook art was the same and the current art is temp.

I’m personally not a fan and think it looks a little boring so I might cancel my order closer the time depending on if it changes. Not sure yet

I also still use my ps3 (well I was using it last year with a old modern warfare), and early last year I sorted out my PS1 & PS2 too and got them working again. But I’ve not played them. Suppose it’s the novelty of having them ready to go if I do ever fancy it

Only Glossy game steels I own are far cry 4 and Star Wars the force unleashed 2
