It's also listed as sold out at the moment but that I expect is just because of Zavvi mad stock control system it happens when release date arrives and none in stock on system

Zavvi now list the release date as 29 August 2016

They must of have not got all the stock supplied and changed the release date for rest of the stock to arrive

Grabbed one. Somehow missed this the first time it went up for pre-order and sold out. This was my favorite movie as a kid. I still have my old VHS copy I got for Christmas when I was a kid.

This has happened before with some releases but only a few times though
The distributor does not supply all the stock for original release date
A small amount gets supplied only with rest of the stock to be supplied at a later date

Retailer then get told by the distributor new date for the rest of the stock so they change the release date

It would be better option when this happens to just keep the release date to the updated date for all stock so not to confuse customers as to stock availability

The release date was changed to 29th August on Monday 22 as they did not get all stock delivered for previous release date of 22nd

but I wonder what's the difference between this new 30th anniversary and the previous 25th anniversary edition? since it has the same bonus features "Walking the Tracks: The Summer of Stand By Me", only mastered from 4K, I guess?

The difference is that for 30th anniversary they did the steelbook, nothing else changed

Thats odd, I've just had sorry for the delay emails from them, I just received my steelbook today. Zavvi don't know what they're doing at the best of times

I had to check this thread as I seen zavvi had a August 29th release for this. I was 15th at o e point and I received my copy on 10th of August. Was pretty shocked as I've never had any pre order that early from them.

hmmm. Zavvi playing tricks on me again.... I ordered this but then tried to cancel, less than 5 mins after ordering, yesterday. (Found a discount code but also thought I may as well chance waiting for the price to drop)
I sent them an email asking to cancel too. About 2 hours later, it said failed to cancel on my account. Then I got an email last night saying it is fine to return it. Then just now I have got a dispatch email. Crazy.

Zavvi charge debit card as soon as you order if item ordered is in stock
If you pay be debit card you will see pending transaction show on your debit card within a few min as in nearly instantly
Once they have sent payment request to your bank you cant cancel an order even though it might not be despatched until the next day

It's different with pre orders as item ordered is not in stock so easy to cancel an order

They should yes be like amazon where you can cancel before despatch and even amazon wait a few hours before sending payment request to your bank.

Just remember with Zavvi if it's in stock anything you order your debit card will be charged straight away and order cant be cancelled like a pre order

Don't get me wrong, I do want the steel, just had the hindsight of thinking maybe it would become another £7.99 steel soon. I'll probably decide whether or not to send it back when I receive it
