After seeing the trailer I don't know what to think, it mostly left me confused. Need more info on whats happening in the movie (haven't really been keeping up to date with it)

Hum... love the Beastie Boys... love this song... was in the "first" Trek movie... but hum... not sure that it's a "good" thing to re-use it for a trailer no???

But at least the overal trailer looks "ok"... will wait to see more to unveil the story because at the moment... not sure...

well just seen story for new trailer that will be released at a fan event on May 20th 2016.

taking there bloomin time with it and hope is better than first trailer and also just about month before release obvious the budget is not there for trek like was before

anyway link below for story

Star Trek Beyond director Justin Lin announced today a first-ever fan event to take place on May 20 in celebration of the series’ milestone 50th Anniversary this year and the film’s release this summer.

The one-time only special event, taking place at the historic Paramount Pictures studio lot, will include the premiere of the new Star Trek Beyond trailer, an exclusive first-look of never before seen footage from the upcoming film, a Q&A with Lin and the cast and crew, special guests appearances, and other surprises. The Q&A will be streamed via Facebook Live.

Said Justin Lin, “As a lifelong fan of Trek, we wanted to do something special for the fans and we couldn’t think of a better way to do that than creating an event dedicated to them in the year that we also come together to celebrate the series’ amazing 50th year.”

Seems like there's no buzz what-so-ever at the moment about this... let's hope that the Fan event in May will change that...

That's what scares me.This is the 50th anniversary and there is no news on the big budget movie and only a few lines here and there about the reboot TV show. What the hell are they doing over there? Is the movie that bad?

I'm praying for the best but expecting the worse on this one.

The show is 50 years old and all the "excitement" is about a film franchise that bears no resemble to the actual show it's based on is sad in my books. Why aren't we celebrating the 50th year of the original show with something special. It's not as if they didn't know the 50th anniversary was upon us soon. Whatever you say about Dr Who they celebrated their 50th anniversary with the special that was shown everywhere worldwide. That's the way to celebrate......

Love the first two movies, but I'm not the least bit excited about this one for some reason. Maybe it's because of their choice of director... not that I really have anything against Lin. Will obviously wait to see it until I judge anyway. :)

Maybe because Dr .Who is still going on TV and hasn't moved to mainly movies .Hints, nothing has changed really. star trek was four TV series and plenty of movies already and needed to be rebuilt for the modern world.Dr.Who is just ...Dr .Who

But they are bringing a new show set in this universe next year and they have some awesome comics set in the new timeline as as well. But they should be making a big deal out of this.Maybe Star Wars coming back has scared them. They did steal there director of their new universe after all.

Your comment "needed to be rebuilt for the modern world" doesn't make sense. There is an old saying" if it's not broke don't fix it." All Star Trek needed was a long rest not a reboot. Dr Who was the same. It needed a serious rest in the 80's and when it came back it was well refreshed.

If star trek went on a "rest" and came back the way it was, it would be gone again.it need to be updated.if it wasn't broken the show wouldn't have went off the air in the first place.

The show went of the air because they had flogged it to death. Too many shows in a short period of time. People had become bored with it. It didn't need "updating". What it needed was a seriously long rest and fresh ideas and new creative talent. "There are two types of show in my books. Ones that have a short live span because of the nature of the show and the second type which can keep going as long as there are fresh ideas. But the second type still needs a rest once in a while. The gap between Star Trek and the Next Generation was perfect. That's the type of break you need. And look how good The Next Generation turned out to be......

whats concerning me for a 50th year they don't seem to be making a song and dance about this, is the story so basic that if they did long trailers its not worth seeing as you would have seen all the film.

paramount have got this sooooo wrong so far.

anyway new trailer 2 days time and better be better than the last one:rolleyes:
