Cancelled and reordered with 10% off.

Am I the only one that doesn't really mind the gold border? I mean, it doesn't look the worst in the world and you had to expect something given that this is the 50th Anniversary.
Also - the odds that there will any other steelbooks for these movies is pretty much zero. These are it. Learn to like them.
The fact that they have the original poster art is very cool.

£9.99 each would be more reasonable, considering you can pick up the Stardate set with extras disc for around £20.

But I guess it is what it is. I wonder what the print run is on this? 4000?

£9.99 would be reasonable. This is the Trek 50th Anniversary. These are going to be everywhere for awhile.
I don't expect that there is a print run number. As many as they want/need.
This just smacks of a release that will 50% of the current price in 6 months.

Yeah, after some thought I think it might be wiser to be more selective. If anything it makes more sense to get Wrath of Khan for the directors cut. Which I think is the first time on Blu-ray. The rest I hope will stick around for a while.

As a whole it's still pretty expensive for films avaliable fairly cheaply.

Has anyone seen this set before? It seems to have been an Amazon exclusive limited editon collection of the films, it's £101 on Amazon but only about £50 on eBay.

It seems to have a lot, is it a better buy? I mean the steels are more than double (although I do love steels, they are expensive as a whole collection)

This particular 2013 released set was limited to 5,000 individually numbered pieces and as can be seen above has 2 Bonus Discs - (1) STAR TREK SUMMIT in three parts - as a companion to films 1 - 6 with the original crew and (2) Companion to films 7 - 10 with the next generation crew - THE EVOLUTION OF THE ENTERPRISE / VILLAINS OF STAR TREK / I LOVE THE STAR TREK MOVIES / FAREWELL TO STAR TREK THE EXPERIENCE / KLINGON ENCOUNTER / BORG INVASION / CHARTING THE FINAL FRONTIER.
Pricey now thanks to the various extras such as the 112 page full colour photo book, exclusive Senitype film cell collection, storyboards, fabric Enterprise badge, Enterprise blueprint and of course because it is numbered and limited.

Other collections available such as the reasonably priced STARDATE COLLECTION also from 2013 with all 10 films priced at time of writing - 365 Games @GBP 28.99, Amazon @GBP 34.40, Zoom @GBP 33.44 - but has been at least 10 quid cheaper in recent times.
Seems to have the same disc extras as the previous set but does not have any of the non-disc extras.
Also, some of the discs are plain silver here unlike in the ltd. ed. set where all of the discs have original poster artwork.

STARDATE COLLECTION 1-10

I'll be sticking for the moment with my 2 sets from 2009 with translucent outer slipboxes :- (1)

(2)

(1) ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE COLLECTION 1-6 (7 BDs) 1979-1991.
(2) THE NEXT GENERATION MOVIE COLLECTION 7-10 (5 BDs) 1994-2002.

Thanks for that useful information. As much as I like steelbooks and have paid high prices for films that could be bought for peanuts but here it just seems a lot and with other sets of the films avaliable so much cheaper. I think the steels are just too expensive. :(

Have you seen that limited edition set in hand is it nice? Which would you pick?

No, afraid not, didn't buy either of those two boxsets from 2013 and only bought the 2 very smart sets from 2009 with one set containing the Original Crew films and the other set containing the Next Gen Crew films(was a bit like that when younger in not wishing to mix the original with later crew in same package . . . lol) and also never fancied the two boxes as looked really plain and uninteresting to me compared to the sets I already had.

If I really had to buy all 10 films in one package I'd buy all 3:-
1) The Stardate Collection because it's cheap @ approx. 3 quid per film
2) The Limited Edition for the goodies included.
3) The steelbook 10 film package because (a) love metal packaging (b) Feel these steels will be nice and glossy and lovely in the flesh.

No, seriously, Id just buy the steels and prepared to wait for a price of under 100 smackers (70 quid).

P.S. Almost totally unrelated . . . but those like myself waiting for a price drop on TREASURE PLANET could do worse than check it out in the small "2 Disney steels for GBP 20" promotion and just bought that one together with ALICE IN WONDERLAND 3D - with a 17 quid saving which can't be bad
All the other titles, apart from BEDKNOBS, have been cheaper previously at some point and are not a good deal.

I was thinking I might just get 2 and 4. But then that means I have to get 3, because it's a trilogy. And I may as well get 1. And I do like 6 as well. Which probably means I'd have to get 5 too, for the spine, even though the film is just Shatner wanking off into his own mouth for an hour and 45 minutes. And I might get First Contact, since it's a decent action flick, even though it's a bad TNG film. And I just realised that means I might end up getting Generations for the spine as well even though that movie is pretty bad.

But not Insurrection or Nemesis though. They might be able to trick me into buying 8 steelbooks, but not 10.

So I went from wanting 2, to 8, and now I hate myself. They know what they're doing with that spine line up huh.

No such thing as a bad Star Trek film or episode only a less good one and some episodes that I could mention with either crew have been truly "stellar".

Hey do you know much about this set? (I didn't realise there was already so many Star Trek film boxsets)

Yup, it's called pimping the franchise (and why not).
That's the pick of the bunch looks-wise and I did think about picking it up at the time but something else always got in the way - probably those damn steelbooks . . . lol - and now as can be seen the price is up there in the 100 quid zone for a "New & sealed" example -
2009 release and I'd not long before bought the see-through slipboxed 6-film and 4-film collections so decided no need for this . . . and despite the drop-dead gorgeous box the inside is as average as can be with all 10 films in regular sized 14mm Amaray cases slotted into grooves in the base and all discs grey with no artwork on them.
