In my opinion this isn't a masterpiece. And I know I'm biased but hear me out because the art choices from kimchidvd and nova aren't masterpieces either, (mostly)

Blufans is just following a formula of drag and drop poster artwork onto a steelbook template. Adding embossing and full gloss and shipping it out to a happy consumer. And don't get me wrong, it works. It looks better than the WWA by a long shot and for what it attempts, it does well.

But imo, for it to be that phenomenal, it really has to excel. For example, The Lion King from Taiwan. It was original, unique and the design was new. It used debossing to create something really special.

This is by all means a nice steelbook. But not quite a masterpiece in my opinion

If I remember correctly a poll was started when the design for Frozen was in development. Many people voted for what became the Elsa lenticular's image to be used as the steelbook front but it was scrapped by Disney in favor of the bland image of the snowflake that we ended up getting. Let's hope Disney allows the change many of us are clamoring for - use the ensemble movie poster image as the steelbook front!

Haha they really did it!! Blufans, never change. You're doing great. I'm so impressed!

The real masterpiece will be the slip cover.

The fact that there are pearls like Lion King Taiwan, which stand out from the crowd, doesn't make this "formula" bad. It's a much better formula than many of the FAC releases, and I am very happy with that. This is exactly what I want, and they deliver that. So there is nothing wrong with it.
All the more disappointing that not all studios follow this formula. Like I said on the last page, it can be just this simple to satisfy a collector!

.Glad to read that the vast majority are more than happy with the poster art being used for this steelbook front but it's not exactly an earth-shattering event as original poster art has been used already on hundreds if not thousands of steelbook covers . . .
IMO the famous poster image would have been better used as a 3D lenticular for the slipcover/slipcase with the big head artwork used for the steelbook if only to resemble better the previous six SW releases.
Fully appreciate the fact that people are paying over 50 quid for this item and that they expect and demand something a bit different/more special/more unique than a clone of what's gone before.
Now it would be only right and proper for Blufans to release the previous six . . . all with original poster art on the steelbook fronts (instead of on the backs).

Anyway all fair enough and well and good and here's hoping that everyone is totally happy with their purchases :)

Completely agree man. I tried to stress the idea that this was still good in my paragraph and I'm sorry if that didn't come across. Just some were acting like this is the best steelbook of all time and as a long time collector, that couldn't stand ;)

Nova already used the poster art on a lenti and its epic

So happy blufans have changed to the proper art after complaints

I like kylo but he's used on every-f*cking-thing

I like that this sets a precedent for poster art on BF SW steelbooks. Maybe not the most inventive thing, but there are so many ways that SW art can go wrong (as we've seen...), and it's nice to imagine that eventually BF will be able to create a full set of matching steelbooks (and by "full set," I'm not really including the prequels, lol). Now if they'll just reveal a Rogue One design with the poster art on front...

I agree. But it works. We all like struzan art.

Some metalpaks/futurepaks are phenomenal with their embossing and originality but they never get praised ....

Guyver, Nemesis, Underworld, Child's Play

I am very Happy with my Nova Choice #09 for this Title, both Fullslips are Killers ! I don't mind the WWA I actually like it. I wish Blufans would have taken more time to present the Updated WEA Artwork, it feels like they rushed the process from when they announced ''Artwork will be changed'' to ''when they presented the Mockup''.

And as @matthewtheunicorn pointed out personally I am not a fan of slapping the most common movie poster for it on the steel and call it WEA. There is soooo many amazing Artworks for this movie, so many more possibilities that could have elevated this WEA as a very Unique Release. I just don't know why Blufans took such a shortcut to produce this WEA Steel. Yes it is WEA, but it doesn't feel fresh and Exciting. I know lots of people are Happy about this change so I am happy for them, but as a Collector spending a lot of money on a release, I expect a bit more effort on the Artwork.

I Love this movie it is my Favorite from Star Wars...so I have nothing against this release, just a bit let down :dunno:

Has the print run been confirmed on this? I'd guess it'll be closer to 3000-4000 for such a popular title, but who knows. Doctor Strange is supposed to be limited to 2000.
