Didn't mind the front Kylo artwork, it was the interior art that I thought could have been better.

Yeah. I feel like the paraded stormtroopers is a bit of a boring image to use for the interior. So for example, if we do get a steelbook that actually uses the film poster for the front cover artwork, then I would have preferred the interior artwork be this:


My reasoning: I think this was such an iconic part of the teaser and it truly got me excited for what was to come in The Force Awakens. Even the Zavvi steelbook had the Falcon vs TIE fighters, which I also think is a better artwork over the stormtroopers.

Good choice! The robotic hand on R2 was another key moment of the trailer that got fans excited, but admittedly, it had very little to do with the film as a whole!

Hey mates, some great news for those who are disappointed of the artwork for this WEA release. Over in the blu-ray.com forum, Blufans messenger says:
"A great news everyone! Because we always listen and value fans' input and feedback, Blufans has made a decision over the weekend to cancel the already approved WEA despite the effort and time they have put into. Please expect a revised WEA in next couple days! Thank you all!".
Cross fingers the second coming will be BRILLIANT! Stay tuned.

Really cool of them to ditch something they'd put so much time in to just to please the customer... maybe they should do public polls in future and let us have a say from the very beginning, as then they could obviously avoid this type of situation.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with as a replacement anyway.

Fair enough . . . and if you're investing 50 quid plus on these editions you'd maybe prefer something a bit "special" or at least different to what has gone before . . .
If I'd bought the previous 6 Big Head style I'd personally have been happy with the OP image if only because that front artwork sits well with the previous releases.

Having had a bit more time to reflect on this I still feel sad this movie still does not have the official movie poster on a steelbook, I don't know if there were hurdles due to Disney but I had hoped Blufans would save us again, the force is not looking strong with this one.

The one many of us wanted on the front or back for this release with just the main titles.

Not entirely a huge fan of the chinese poster. They've enlarged bb-8 a crazy amount and made Finn near obsolete. BB-8 is understandable with their culture glorifying all things cute but when theres suggestions of a racist tendency leading to the dismissal of a black character, suddenly the poster has negative connotations to me.

I also think Kylo looks better side on. Little less awkward

I wouldn't go that far and take that as rascism. It's just a rearrangement. Or what kind of political background do the bigger Han Solo and Leia have?

Yeah, I get what you're saying... but if I wanted a steel to match the previous six, then I'd watch it to match exactly rather than it just looking somewhat similar. Don't get me wrong though... the current design is good, but it could be a lot better, and I'm guessing BF have realised that.

If I remember correctly a poll was started when the design for Frozen was in development. Many people voted for what became the Elsa lenticular's image to be used as the steelbook front but it was scrapped by Disney in favor of the bland image of the snowflake that we ended up getting. Let's hope Disney allows the change many of us are clamoring for - use the ensemble movie poster image as the steelbook front!
